What is the latest good film you watched ?

The Savages. Three strong stars. Slow and often melodramatic but some great acting from Laura Linney and Philip Bosco.

I'm really liking Philip Seymour Hoffman too. In a lot of good flicks lately. Capote and Before the Devil Knows You're Dead are just two.

Dialogue avec mon jardinier - a french movie which havent been translated yet as far as i know. I really enjoyed it :)

Latest GOOD film I´ve watched was
Quantum of Solace
Very good Thriller

Before that the best ones were
The Dark Knight
Ironman

Wall-E ...

After "finding nemo" and "the incredibles" my favorit Pixar-movie

Tropic Thunder

Freaks (1932) - A sympathetic mostly non-exploitative story in the lives of circus "freaks". Only real sideshow performers acted in those roles, and they did themselves great justice in showing their talent and humanity. 9/10

Lolita (1962) - The Stanley Kubrick film based on the 1955 Vladimir Nabokov novel of the same name. A man falls into an obsession and relationship with a 14 year old girl. The movie is done just about as tastefully as this subject can be done, due to the era in which it was made. Far tamer than the 1999 remake and other modern films. Well done, but even though it was edited for brevity, perhaps still a little long at 2 1/2 hours. 7/10

2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) - Another Kubrick film, written in collaboration with Arthur C. Clarke. Fantastic, ground-breaking visual effects and convincing scientific accuracy. Generally held as one of the best sci-fi films ever made. Truly riveting scenes. Fantastic classical score contributes to making this one a can't miss movie. I felt this one also could have been cut a bit though. That's the only thing keeping it from perfection. 9/10
