So many films around that time really deconstructed the romantic western genre. Fantastic stuff.

True. But in the case of TLATOJRB, they got most of the facts wrong. It was still a damn entertaining turn for Newman though.
Bad Bob's death was especially memorable. I wonder if that inspired Raimi's "The Quick and the Dead."
