Technically the last good film I watched was the first Hobbit film, but more people will have seen that than the one prior, which was Elysium.
I love a bit of sci-fi, and while the acting wasn't great (well, you know what you're getting with Matt Damon) and some of the dialogue flimsy, the concepts and storyline made it an interesting watch. Visually stunning as well, the first shot of the landscape of Elysium itself was incredible. It was really nice to see some sci-fi that gave you the bleak dystopian future of a Blade Runner or Total Recall and a movie that was a nice change from the usual "ships in space shooting at each other" fayre, for the most part.
