What is the latest good film you watched ?

Kick Ass
It was really damn good. The comic was better (and I'm no comic reader), but the film was still awesome.

Queen Margot and the starring actress in this movie closely resembles Megan Fox :drools:

The Slammin' Salmon

Again... I fucking LOVE this movie. "Totally! No, I'm joking... But it is true."

Nuts/Zongo is one of my favorite characters from any movie... Fuckin' eh!

Red Line - funny flick like Fast and the furious, just with real fast cars, funny story and a hot actress called: Nadia Bjorlin << she was worth to watch the movie :)

This was one of the worst movies I'd ever seen. Made F&F look like a masterpiece. I wanted to see it for the cars, dragged my gf at the time along with me, and we both regretted it after. I hate that stupid motherfucker that destroyed an Enzo for the PROMOTION of this piece of crap too. Fucking BLA. :thefinger

Last good films I watched that really entertained me and weren't dumbed down and were quite pleasant viewing experiances:

Zombieland: I'd give it an 8 out of 10. Unusually well made and "crowd-pleasing" style mainsteam b-movie comedy in the Shaun of the Dead vain, as advertised. Unusually well made I felt, and indeed a certain major actors extended cameo sequence had me howling. Just really liked it for some reason and am glad I blind-bought the Blu-Ray on a recent Amazon order.

Volver: Spaniard movie by Pedro Almodovar. Starring Penelope Cruz. Very nice drama with some lite-hearted comedic moments as well. Very often spiritual movie, without being preachy I felt, although like most of Mr. Almodovar's work, I do felt it took a good twelve plus minutes or so to truely "get going", but I'll let that slide. Fine enough viewing once a year or so, and so another 8 out of 10. Well worth owning.

Batman '89 (Tim Burton version): Just got the collectible "book" version of this with photos and Sam Hamm screenplay inserts from a 1987 draft in it and all. Via Amazon, as always since I'm afraid like many I don't find the Schumaucher Batman's interesting or even fun bad movie laughable enough to warrent paying for the Blu-Ray boxset I saw at Best Buy myself; unless of ocurse someone wants to purchase it for me over the holiday's come Christmas time.

But in my mind while I find Iron Man a damn good film and surprisingly well made, and the overly long Watchmen 3-disc director's cut edition I also just got on Blu is certainly well made, this to me will always be the best big-budgeted superhero/comic book adaption film that I'll wax nostalgic about until I pass away, as I have some many posative memories about seeing it opening night (and yes I'm already starting to feel old so sue me). Coupled with the fact that I persoanlly just find this installment THE most perfectly cast out of all the major comic book films (even my beloved Superman II; either cut by the way) and has the best look out of all the films and brauva performances (or however you say that). DAMN fine entertainment that would have been a wonderful film even on it's own without a franchise to kick-start with (and just think about that for a moment) if it was just the definate story that this one was created to be.

No Robin as a sidekick, and no slapstick and no oddball-ish Christian Bale when he is in Bartman and not Bruce character voice and all of that as there should be. I even prefer the more natural weight and husky/well-set Commisioner Gordon (RIP Mr. Hingle) to waddle around on set to even a fine actor who are all know played him in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. Hard to believe if you even look at Keaton and Nicholson in '98 that more natural looking and (*gasp*) every day and more normal shaped people were in the artform that is cinema (35mm films) as opposed to hulking masses of unbelievable and far too worked out and quite obviously personally trained for months on end globs of odd muscle.

Sorry but this installment simply can't be beat for my money. Jack was on top of his creating pop-art game, while the "Getting Sober" (another danm fine film by the way)-era Keaton really shined for this two hour ride. Ten out of ten for this Burton classic.

The Toxic Avenger

With director's commentary. The guy comes across as certifiably nuts, but for a film such as this, a bizarre commentary track is very appropriate.

Martyrs.
Great movie up untill the last half hour then it went down hill fast. Shame really as it was brilliant up till then.

Frontiers.
Sort of like a French version of the Chainsaw Massacre. Decent movie so it was.

In agreement. Martyrs had been hyped to hell but just gets stupid at the end which doesn't live up to the first couple acts.
Frontiers was really good.
Those french fellows certainly love putting their leading actresses through it!
