What is the greatest sporting event/moment you've witnessed?

I am a failure to the Korean side of my family
Seeing Milian Lucic first career hat trick, The Bruins winning the Stanley Cup last year. And Lance "Thunderbelly" Kompowski winning the Universal bellyflopping competition.

How could I forget Jack's 10 inning game 7 finals performance in the WS? Okay, I was pretty damn young at the time, but as far as the community and culture here there may not have been another moment as great and meaningful to the community.

I'm a Houstonian sports fan through and through, I plain hate the Dallas Cowboys and their lame ass fans. I've been to a lot of Oliers vs Cowboys Texas Governor cup games when I was a child. We would rent a coach bus and pack the family in and head to Dallas. When the Oliers left Houston, the cup ended, so I never had a reason to go to Dallas. 1996 was the last time I had been to Texas Stadium. In 2000 I had won 4 tickets to a tailgate party in Dallas. We were to go in a coach bus and drinking was allowed during the trip. The bitch ass Cowboys were playing the 49er's. Since I'm not a fan to either team, I was just going to give the tickets away to some friends. They convinced me to get drunk and go and talk shit if I wanted to so yeah I went. I saw the greatest thing on that game, more better than some player breaking a record or some comeback. Here is a video of what I saw. I cheered so loud, my friends and I got in a fist fight with fans and we ended up getting kicked out. All the while when we were getting escorted out, I was screaming "FUCK THE COWBOYS!!" "FUCK THAT STAR"

what does Dallas do in a couple of years later? They hire Terrell Ownes like bitches they are LOL!!!

best sporting event for me ever!!

I was very young when Fisk hit his foul-pole hugging homer that beat the Reds in game six in 1975.
I clearly remember Pete Rose hitting number 4192.
I clearly remember the Reds's World Series win in 1990.
Buckner letting a ground ball go between his legs.
Gibson limping around the bases.
Kirby Puckett making a great catch, then hitting a homer.
McGwire hitting number 62 (there where whispers then).
Ryan pitching his 7th no hitter.
Buerhle's perfecto, saved by a remarkable catch.
Boston's remarkable come back in 2004 against the Yankees.
Morris' incredible pitching performance in game seven.
Reggie, jacking three.

And so many more. I have watched a lot of baseball through the ages.

I have seen a few but I would give them all uo to have seen this

It will be the first and only time a Scottish club will win the champions league. I would have loved to see it

It would have been like one of the smallest teams winning the superbowl or the world series. History in the making

Well, there are a few, but if I really had to decide on a single one I probably go with the 1990 World Cup. The build up to the final was just as exciting because there was that epic Round of 16 match against the Netherlands and an even more epic penalty shootout versus England in the semis. And the final being a the rematch from four years earlier was absolutely perfect.

But then there's also:

- 2001 Champions League final

- final match day of the 1986 Budnesliga season, my first time at the Olympia stadium actually

- Ice hockey final at the 2006 Winter Olympics, Forsberg...Sundin...Lidström...goal!

- even though he didn't win that day (obviously!), the monster crash by Hermann Maier in the Downhill race at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano was a sporting event not to be missed, and three days later he took the Super-G gold medal

I was at this game, easily the best sports moment of my life! Kobe dropped 23, Pau, playing very un-Pau-like with 19 pts and 18 boards... and the basketball player formerly known as Ron Artest with a humongous 20 point effort that night. Would be lying if I said I didn't shed a few tears that night.

Moment of the game, though, Sasha Vujacic comes off the bench cold, for all intents and purposes, and ices the game with the 2 biggest free throws his career will ever know.

I actually went to both games 2 and 7. Cost me a little more than $1,000. But I can't personally think of any better way to spend that money. Given my love for the Lakers, and genetic hatred of the Celtics, especially that year's bunch.

(Close 2nd would be the 2008 US Open at [NOBABE]Torrey Pines[/NOBABE]. Got to see Tiger and Rocco Mediate play 19 playoff holes, with Tiger clenching one of the most spectacular US Open victories ever, IMO... and he only needed 1 functioning knee to do it. Got that ticket for free, its good to know low people in high places )
