What is the best acoustic guitar song you've heard?

Mr. Daystar

In a bell tower, watching you through cross hairs.
Mood For A Day/The Clap-Steve Howe or Goodbye Blue Sky-Pink Floyd

Hmmmmmm, probably my favorite is from Shining (Sw) off the V. Halmsted Album,
Längtar Bort Från Mitt Hjärta (Second track off the album. It's all in Swedish and about 2/3rds of the song is in acoustic, But what a fucking riff!!! If there has to be a full on acoustic song I like, it's Windir's Likbør....

Hey folks I like Black Metal, so sorry for all the Weird Language non sense >=D

Wish you were here is the only one that comes to mind at this moment, Im sure something Dylan did should be in there to but I cant think of anything.

Special Operations FOX-HOUND
Kiss MTV Unplugged.

So many great acoustic songs...

I really like the Stone Temple Pilots acoustic version of Plush and someone mentioned Nirvana's acoustic "All Apologies" which is great too.

The Rolling Stones have several fantastic acoustic driven songs... Wild Horses, Angie, Sister Morphine and the awesome Moonlight Mile.

Any Neil Young song is a masterpiece... my current fav is his solo performance of Don't Let It Bring You Down... The Needle And The Damage Done, Old Man, Deep Forbidden Lake... man I could list every song in his catologue.

James Taylor's "Fire And Rain"... "Give A Little Bit" by Supertramp is a classic... "Norwegian Wood" by The Beatles... oh, and a little ditty called "Stairway To Heaven" by Led Zepplin is pretty good in case you haven't heard of it (they've got some other good acoustic tunes like "Ramble On" or "Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You").

Of course there's great folk songs starting with Dylan, how about Tangled Up In Blue... I like Gordon Lightfoot songs like "Sundown" or "The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald"... and Simon and Garfunkle's "Mrs Robinson" is an all time great.

Also I love Pete Townshends acoustic work throughout the album "Tommy", the "Overture" track is one of the great peices of acoustic ever.

The best? I wouldnt presume to ever know.

But I like a few.. they're in my mind and attributed to certain moods, plenty of memories. Often, sadness. :( But like a good friend the music is always there.

Django Reinhart's work (He only used two fingers due to an accident as a teen)

John Mayer sticking to what he should.. although his radio play hits arent bad, he's great with a guitar and underrated as anything but a pop star.

Eric Clapton - Circus Left Town

Blind people. Find every last musician who cant see and you'll find instant classics.

Brian Setzer - Sleepwalk (Hollow body electrics count! :p)

But, eh.. even if a hollow electric didnt fit the bill IMO, I just have to mention the Setzer orchestra as one of my fave bands. Yay rockabilly!

Have you ever heard of the Legendary Shack Shakers?

Psychobilly at its finest.
