I **** to be the bearer of bad tidings but this is not a new thing at all. Throughout the history of the US a good percentage of the Legislators of all types have been proven to just be in it for money and power. The citizens and anyone else be damned.

Why it's not really a labor shortage, according to the author of a report that just crunched data on millions of job searches and reviews

"I would say labor shortage is kind of a tricky term," Glassdoor's Daniel Zhao told Insider.
His new report for the jobs site found workers would come back but only with the right conditions.
Bureau of Labor Statistics data shows there are more job openings than unemployed workers.

It's not a labor shortage, it's a living wage shortage.

They could use the $1 billion to open 20,000 frozen banana stands all around the world.
Do they have to pay interest on the loan, and how long do they have to pay back the loan???
What is a frozen banana stand? Do they sell frozen bananas or do they use frozen bananas to make smoothies?

A low-quality 1-carat diamond costs $2000, and up to $20,000 for a high-quality 1-carat diamond, but only because evil corporations like De Beers control the supply of diamonds.
Diamonds are not only sold as useless retarded bling. Diamonds are also very useful in different industries.

De Beers like many other corrupt corporations driven solely by greed are guilty of many crimes like fraud, harassment, ******, etc., solely to increase the wealth of their evil pos shareholders.
But since all economic systems are corrupt, these evil assholes can bribe their way out of any criminal investigations or indictments.
A high-quality 1-carat diamond should cost less than $2.

A mine worker is X-rayed during a diamond check, 1954.
De Beers mine workers were X-rayed at the end of every shift before leaving the diamond mines in Kimberley, South Africa.

Most of them, who survived working in the mines, probably died of cancer caused by the x-rays.

The IRS already has all your income tax data – so why do Americans still have to file their taxes? ~ The answer as always is greed.

This one is priceless. Gas prices going up is an opportunity for Applebee’s to lower wages. I didn’t get it at first either, but the exec helped out. It is obvious the exec doesn’t get it either. Or maybe he does. :(

At the end of his note he wants to ensure Applebee’s is the ‘employer of choice’ for his multi-job staffers. One is ‘hav[ing] a culture and environment that will attract people.”

One would think competitive wages would help attract and retain employees.

@Connor Macleod says the economy is Premium Link Upgrade . CEO comp says otherwise. Good times.
And, your opinion is the economy is fine because CEO's are getting paid more?

The cost of transportation/shipping is at record highs, inflation is at a record high, supermarkets are reporting shortages (some severe), and government economists are going on record that we may likely be headed for a recession. My statement may have been a bit overzealous, but we are in a definite downturn, and not in a "sunshine and roses" era that you allude to. The question is, can we dig ourselves out of this mess?
