So what? Some times, some things... It's the less connected to Earth now, only influencing ebb & flow (tides) and some people turning into werewolves occasionally. So I guess there is no point worrying losing the moon, but what I fear for is that it would rather fall on Earth itself causing inclearing massive damage than just up and fly away, y'know.
Baring some unthinkably large asteroid or comet strike, (By unthinkable I mean larger than anything comet or asteroid strike our solar system has probably ever experienced) hitting the moon and slowing down it's revolution around us there is pretty much nothing that could cause it to have it's orbit slow down and decay into us unless the laws of physics are somehow broken.
