what has better video quality: DVD or MP4 HD?

I've been subscribing to allot of websites like ElegantAngel, RealityKings, HDLove, Lethal Hardcore, and some more....anyways, I am loving the fact that I can download tons of scenes for about 10 to 20 bucks a month in HD MP4 1080p quality....

but...is the quality better on DVD?

I don't mind spending 20 bucks a pop on a DVD if the quality is better but if not...i'll just stick to monthly memberships.
