i cannot wait.
i still have NHL08 which i thought was a great game.
i guess i can trade that in now. i held onto it just in case 09 was screwed with.
now i have MLB08 for the PSP which i play a few games of everyday (road to the show) and i bought the MLB09 and they went and changed the base running controls from 08.... and it is the worst control scheme ever i won't even play it because it's so stupid using the analog control to run bases. when the screen flips the runner goes back to the previous base.
they really blew it with that change
Agreed.
Just to give a few more examples of reasons the game is broken (all of which I have personally experienced):
-Franchise mode freezes regularly, and any attempt to save the franchise will produce a corrupt save file.
-Online play is absolutely horrid game-play wise. The latency has improved, but pitch recognition has gone down the toilet.
-Statistics in game are wrong, and often classified incorrectly. For example, I had Jack Cust come to the plate, and his tag said he was a "Gold Glover in 216", and after the game, which was midway through the season, he suddenly disappeared. Gone from the stats, gone from my lineup, just gone. I tried the player search, with no success, and gave up.
-Injuries are dealt with horribly. Matt Holliday strained his neck, was to miss 1 game, and never recovered. The only way to get rid of the injury was to send him to the minors, which was problematic because the game never let me bring him back up.
-The animations are the same from 2K7, but with more glaring errors. I can't tell you how many times I've had a ground ball hit directly to the shortstop that just goes through him.
-No ability to edit attributes/player looks/stances/deliveries. What the fuck was the point of "Signiture Styles" if only the original player can use them?
And I've got more. I was actually so pissed off by the game that I wrote an entire bug report and sent it to 2K studios.
On a happier note, NHL10 is looking better and better every time I see it.
