8 was the first I bought and it still remains the best ever to me ...
But you can't compare one with another one, each of them has a different theme and playing, ...

mainly, i liked 8 most for the card game and also the final fight that took me almost 3 hours, starting from the lion (of squall's ring) ... suspense and horror from beginning to end ...

It is, just in a different way. 12 brought in a whole slew of new stuff that FF fans hadn't seen before. Some people didn't like it, but it seemed much more fluid to me. But you can compare it to the others in a toe to toe contest, you have to realize how different the game mechanics became with 12. :2 cents:

Fair enough! I can def see your point there, as I feel the same. But SOMEHOW 12 got to me even though it was presented in an usual style. But yes I also prefer the traditional turn-based RPG's; I feel they give more room to strategize where 12's battle system has a bigger percentage of luck involved... :dunno:
