There not bad I suppose. I don't know them personally, but they seem pretty cool.

It's a hard job and you never know how the weather will be. You might have a good year or all your crop could get wiped out after a hail storm.

Well, they feed the world, despite having to give up certain things people in cities enjoy. They have to do their jobs through good weather and bad...

I'd say farmers are pretty good.

A lot of farming is becoming industrialized and mechanized. Farmers are important and I'm glad we have them, but their trade is a dying one.

Well, you have surprised me. I was expecting the "steal our taxes" option to be the most popular, that's certainly the view I got from all the "townies" I used to work with. Maybe I've been hanging out with the wrong type of people.

Biggest gamblers in the world. margins are so slim you HAVE to be right. most years are a break even proposition at best. And to thinks that if they didn't love what they did and have a connection to the land and their work we would all starve.

I have farmers across the street from me, they aren't rich but they are very nice.

They help in the delivery of a lot of things I like, plus the world has to eat. They perform a more important service than a lot of people out there.

But farmers here in holland have to put up with a lot of crap and get screwed by the taxes themselfs.
