What cities/parts of the US would you consider to be third world?

alexandria, la
mobile, al
camden, nj
little haiti, miami FL

i only bring this up, because i have 2 places here in florida, a bigger place inland and a small bach pad on the beach. lately whenever i take out the trash there are motherfuckers dumpster diving within 10 mins of me hitting the can, looking for scrap metal to recycle. its just starting to get nuts here for people in survival. i talk to these guys and they call it "urban mining" it just looks bad to drive by dumpsters and see legs up in the air wherever you live

Pretty much any sizable city in America today has a "third-world" section. But again, like mp said, they have food, clothing, (usually) heat and electricity in America wherever they are.

Dayton is doing pretty well, thank you. Far from a third-world quality. Especially with a few new projects in the works.

Most places are going down due to crime and people who are able to hightail it out of there, leaving it to the riffraff to take over. Many move to surrounding cities/suburbs and take the longer commute to work for safety than having a shorter commute and putting themselves and/or their families at risk.

If WPAFB should be closed or messed with then that area of the state will be devastated economically.

Now that John Boehner won the 2010 election he should hopefully focus on his home state and help bring it back up and running full force again.

Alexendria LA/?:dunno: I actually did some job training in Alexandria years ago for about 4 weeks(didn't really go anyplace though as I live in Louisiana & drove home weekends as I was seriouly pussy whipped at the time:1orglaugh) & I can't remember anything glaring.


So Alexandria is really that bad? Tell me about it.

I live on the south side of Chicago but my neighborhood is called South Chicago, which is located on the far southeast side of Chicago. It's not as bad as places like Englewood or other places which I think you guys are referencing to.
