I read it but I don't remember it. It's been called the most scientific science fiction novel. I'm still reading Illuminatus, it got bumped down the list of other books.
Have you read this one before? it was kind of hard for me to follow, I needed cliff notes. haha.
If you haven't read it I'd recommend VALIS to everyone.

I'm reading two books right now, one is my "trash" book I read to escape, actually it's a re-read of Wizards First Rule by Terry Goodkind, decent fantasy book I read years ago.
The more "serious" book is called "Liberty versus the Tyranny of Socialism: Controversial Essays" by Walter Williams. Pretty compelling arguments about how turing to government to "solve" your problems erodes your personal liberties in the name of "security."

I've read about 200 or so pages so far, it is a little had to follow, similar to Illuminatus I feel. But it seems decent enough at the moment, not overly fantastic.
Excellent book one of PKD's most "out there" works and a very interestng read. I second that recommendation. :hatsoff:
I enjoyed it, maybe a little more than Siddhartha which is the second out of the three Hesse books I have read. Steppenwolf being my favourite so far

The other day, the 23rd, on the TV game show Jeopardy all of the categories were based on James Joyce.
also on that day I just started Illuminatus book three, which starts off "the musicians had began boarding planes... As early as April 23rd...."
It blew my mind.
I just see now that you also made mention to that novel on that date...on the 23rd page of this thread.
