I just accidentally stumbled across this, believe it or not, looking for a couple of songs by Yes, that for some odd reason I don't have...(seeing as how I have just about everything else in all 3 formats).
This fucking song rocks, and I poked around and listened to a couple more, and I dig these guys....gotta check into a cd. I'm especially curious as to Elwood, and xfire's opinion of this song, and their other work if they choose to move forward.

Torn & Frayed.
I like it. It defies classification. Plus, a well-placed - and played - banjo. They also do a great version of "House of the Rising Sun".

I know, and it was oddly placed amongst Yes videos. I was watching an interview, the guy that plays banjo isn't with them anymore, and he was a lead guitarist in a metal band...which explains certain aspects of his playing. He wrote the "Banjo Odyssey", and they were saying it's actually a metal riff, he's playing, and if you look at the floor, he's got effects processing on his banjo. You probably know that just about everyone is going to run compression, or possibly a noise gate, or EQ, but I think there's a little more going on. I don't know why he left, or if he's in another band, but I would like to see him shred a 6-string. I think one of the things that kept me looking after the first song, was the humor in the lyrics. That combined with their sound is a pretty original thing, in a world full of unoriginal bands pouring out of a radio station full of mediocrity, and repetitive playlists.
Anyway, I'm glad you dig it...I don't know, when I see a guy WEARING a cello....I feel it mandatory to check it out.
