Welfare

What do you guys think of the U.S.A welfare system? Do we spend too much? Not enough?

Personally I think we spend too much. I don't think we should take money from others and give it to some others.

I always thought U.S.A let you decide how to spend with freedom but it's different. So much "entitlement".

MINE MINE MINE!!! GIVE ME!

what the fuck you lookin at?
we spend entirely to much on welfare just so fuckin EDITblacks/EDIT can abuse the system. I hear obama wants to give them fucks even more money. His reasoning is to help them find jobs. Um, if I wasn't working sitting on my ass all day smoking pot and drinkin and the system starts giving me even more money...I'd be even less likely to get a job. Its a broken system and need to be dramatically overhauled!

And the people who try to get a job but can´t for several reasons including discrimination? I know that there are people just sitting around all day and exploit a welfare system but there are others too who really need help.

Instead of anger, why not to join those who sit on their ass and smoke weed? :dunno:

If government paid me money for doing nothing, I would certainly agree. And after you are on their side, you will see thing from a different angle, and will start to support all that welfare programs from government.

I really can't understand the problem... You make your choice. To be hard-ass worker and to pay a lot of taxes and be fucked by the system, or to use that system in your own interest.

And if you do not agree to be a lazy-ass joint-smoker on a welfare yourself, you are just not fair enough when saying that they are paid too much. If so, it is better for you to work and to pay taxes. Simple, ain't it?

I'm not an asshole, though,

Also, I'm not worthless.

The Republican Party made a conscious decision as part of their “Southern Strategy” to mis represent the facts about welfare. The image of the “welfare queen” invoked by Reagan along with code phrases like “States Rights” were meant to promote prejudice and put votes in the Republican column.

The stereotypes simply are not true.

Welfare Facts:

* After Clinton’s welfare reform bill of ’96, people can not stay on welfare indefinitely.

* Welfare rolls were greatly reduced under President Clinton

* The vast majority of “welfare” recipients are white

* The vast majority of recipients are children

* Immigrants are half as likely to receive welfare assistance as native born citizens

* Corporate welfare (vast majority of whom are white, male, <45) now receives over $100 Billion a year (prior to the multi billion bail outs)

To be honest, I speak from the side that collects welfare, and it's not as easy as you think. When you're honest and you are using it to try and help get yourself back on your feet, sometimes it just doesnt cut it. It's not cut and dry and simple. It's certainly no help to your self esteem either. I see people bitching and whining about paying for people on welfare, yet they wont take an offer of service from anyone who might actually need the extra money to afford to live.

I went out yesterday with a shovel to peoples houses to shovel their driveway. All I asked was 10 dollars. And their driveways are gigantic. None of them took my offer. And these are the same people who whine about paying for welfare. They're all relatively well off, and could afford the extra 10 bucks to give to someone who will honestly work for it. Yet they don't think about the fact that someone who wants to actually WORK for the cash really needs it.

What I realized from reading this thread is that I must be:

1. asshole
2. lazy
3. black

self-knowledge is amazing thing!

Welfare was a good idea at the time it was started. However, it has out lived it's true usefulness. It is being exploited my too many people who are fully able to get out of the house and work. Also, welfare checks should be paid weekly. And drug tests should be mandatory for people to receive theirs. That would keep 80% of the lazy bums from receiving theirs. And then maybe Washington can find a way to use money in a responsible way.

the key to spending your life on welfare is babies.
because all the welfare laws are "for the children".

so what do you get?

people who don't work, pay no federal or state tax, have more babies,
People who do work, pay alot of federal and state tax. have less or none at all.

And what do you get from that?
President Obama.

If they want to get rid of welfare they have to solve all of societies problems that causes people to have to go on welfare or need any kind of assistance first. That means making sure every adult in the country has a decent job that pays well that wants one as long as they are hard working and have a good work ethic. If they don't then the government either has to find or even create a reasonable one for them. That also means giving everybody a free education as far as they are willing to go with it as long as they contribute back to the society that gave them it when they are done. That means as long as everybody is contributing to their society they are guaranteed reasonable housing and living standards and not left out because of no fault of their own, or because of some unforeseen disaster. We don't want to do that of course because it's not convenient, or even cheap. It's a long and difficult road to go through. We would rather take the easy route and just complain when the people that already have can't get even more, or they will complain about their duty to other people in their society besides themselves. If we can solve all those problems then we can get rid of welfare.

Circuit City 35,000 Lazy fucks!
Mortgage companies and Banks and financial brokers illiterate hacks!
Anyone who make a car are baby makers, jesus all those families!!

If you haven't heard a bout amillion good people who have worked and tried to support their families this year have lost their jobs.

Even some of the Rich have lost their retirement investments that they were counting on.

If you hate one side of the fence, why not hate the CEO fucks who have miss managed, stole, and have run this economy into the ground?

The amount of unworthy people on welfare is few, just like at your work there may be a few lazy ass people and you may be one of them taking up a job space that one of those good people who got laid off could take and do a better job.

Welfare is a band-aid. The real problem is much, much deeper. If we, as a society, really want to give people a "fair shot" at the "American Dream," then we have to dismantle ghettoes, barrios, and suburbs. There is too much socio-economic clustering. When certain communities raise more tax revenue than other communites, certain communities don't have anyone on welfare and certain communities have too many people on welfare.

we spend entirely to much on welfare just so fuckin EDITblacks/EDIT can abuse the system.
Heil Legz? I thought you were better than this...sad.

My opinion on welfare in MN is crap.
If you're a working class human you get nothing.
If you're lazy and have 10 kids you get everything.
Just my opinion though...

Conspiracy...
It depends.

If the people on welfare actually need the money then I'm fine with that.

It's the people who abuse the system that need to be weeded out.

Need: disabled mentally or physically, unemployed and can't find work or a job that pays them enough to get by.

Abusers: Having children just to receive money or having more children to receive more money.
People who can work but are lazy.

Amazing huh? Although welfare/ AFDC(not including unemployment/child care credit & other safety net programs) is less than 1 or 2 percent of the USA budget people are outraged:1orglaugh

And quick to blame others(Blacks /Mexicans ) when the majority of it is paid out to White women. I once posted many of the welfare myths ,but simply don't feel like it again.:dunno:

Sure there can be more stringent requirements/time limts etc...but the finger pointing is ridiculous.
