Walmart, Amazon, Ebay, Sears remove Confederate flag

The flag has one meaning for you and another for me neither side is wrong but again Mississippi was still pushing racist ideals into the 1960's and again was a very small player.
Robert E lee fought for the confederacy to defend Virginia pure and simple not to defend a racist agenda.

The false equivocating is a lie, pure and simple. Sure, the flag can represent different things to different people, but what it represented to The Confederacy is beyond question, and taken in context of it's greater meaning to deny that it's a symbol of racism and **** is to deny reality.

And the continued right to keep slaves. Frame it however you want, that's what it comes down to - reducing a fellow human being (and created in the image of God, for believers out there) to a piece of **** equipment or a household appliance.

Would you have fought for the confederacy, knowing if they had prevailed, slavery would've continued?

Correct. Robert E. Lee would have been Abraham Lincoln's first choice to command the Union Army of Northeastern Virginia (also called the Army of the Potomac.) However, Virginia succeeded from the Union on April 17, 1861 and Lee decided to stay with his beloved state, thus he became the lead commander of the Confederate ****** of the Northern Virginia.

The Confederate Commander that everyone needs to look at here was Lieutenant General Nathan Bedford Forrest. He was a founder of the Ku Klux Klan. However, later he too distanced himself from the organization.

Again you are quoting rich slave owners and I'm speaking for the common man who made up 99.9 of the confederate nations population. The rich douchebags certainly had their motivation and the hard working common man had theirs.
Jefferson Davis was low hung fruit and was considered a snake by most southerners his own ****** in law wanted to hang him for treason.

There is no disputing that their was overwhelming racist thought in the south my point is that the motivation of the war from a southern perspective was not salve ownership related but protecting the south itself from a northern invasion.

I am not wanting to change your mind you think what you want to think this flag was a battle flag of Americans who didn't want their lives or land controlled by others their motivation were more far reaching than just the slavery issue this is a fact weather you care to embrace it or not and only remembering what makes you feel good inside does not change these facts. Our present day viewpoints mean zero to the facts of history. It is what it is and thanks for the dialogue.

What you fail to realize is that the 99% you claim fought the North to resist being controlled by others were already 100% being controlled by a minute percent of wealthy slave holders. But yeah, it's not like my ****** goes back about 12 generations and includes several soldiers of The Confederacy. ****** conscription onto the Confederate army pretty much guarantees that if your ****** lived anywhere in the South during the war you've got ancestors that fought often against their will.
 
No. What makes my ***** boil is a humorless dick linking my **** for anything Dallas to love of confederacy. I also **** that the fruits have misappropriated God's promise to not destroy mankind with water again.
 
Personally I'm not offended by the confederate flag. It takes a lot to get me offended. But that's just me, I'm a relaxed/even-keeled kind of dude
 
I'm not offended by the Confederate flag, I was talking about the Dallas Cowboys flag. My contention is that the Confederate flag has no place flying over any government buildings.
 
The way that the confederate flag is used is offensive. I live in the south and these **** kicking hicks that have them flying on the back of their pickup trucks are 100% racist. They fly it to declare their views on race. I was at publix (grocery) and walking to my car and this guy with an old pickup had a confedrate flag that was huge on each side of his truck bed. He smiled at me and said something and I called him a racist piece of ****. He smiled and said "yup and Im proud of it baby!"

that sums up the mentality of the southern person with a confederate flag flying. They use the n word as much as their great grandparents who owns slaves did and see blacks in the same way. Its sickening and to know they are losing this issue makes me smile. Fuck the south and the southern mentality.
