Is Vladimir Putin a good leader for Russia? If not Putin what type of person would be best to oversee that huge country?
Foreigners like us quite liked Gorbatchev. He had understood that the Soviet Union had lost the cold war and he tried to ease the moment when the whole system would crumble.I liked Gorbachev. Too bad there don't seem to be any prominent clones of him over there at present.
Terrible.
Incredibly corrupt, dishonest, self-serving, power hungry tyrant and murderer.
Russia has a great number of messes that need attending to including, again, high on the list, rampant corruption and stunningly unequal distribution of wealth.
I liked Gorbachev. Too bad there don't seem to be any prominent clones of him over there at present.
Putin was the kind of leader Russia needed when he came to office for the first time in 2000 : after the fall of the Soviet Union, after 8 years with drunkard Eltsine for President, Russia was a train-wreck, it needed someone like Putin to put the country back on tracks. But we've past that long time ago and Putin presidency has become some kind of autoritharian corporate oligarchy.
Foreigners like us quite liked Gorbatchev. He had understood that the Soviet Union had lost the cold war and he tried to ease the moment when the whole system would crumble.
But Russians did not liked him. they saw him as weak, as the one who surrendred to the West
Putin made sure no serious opponents threatened his multiple re-election campaigns : he had all emerging opponents either jailed or killed. Thanks for your input, fellas. Putin and Medvedev are the only 2 guys I am familiar with currently. I know Russia is a difficult country to run and keep any kind of order. Putin does have many faults, I know, but I wonder if there is anyone out there on the horizon who would be a better or even good choice to be President of Russia.
Putin made sure no serious opponents threatened his multiple re-election campaigns : he had all emerging opponents either jailed or killed.
This is why I tend to like Putin
Now, I WILL say that he makes some valid points about mistakes the USA has made, but all that deflection and playing the innocent when you are anything but innocent is just a total joke.
Yes he did make valid points. That was my point.
My valid point.
He basically said what no other living leader has said: The US is ISIS,
Is Vladimir Putin a good leader for Russia? If not Putin what type of person would be best to oversee that huge country?
Oh actually quite a few people have claimed that. Thousands and thousands of completely deranged right wingers actually claimed Obama was the LEADER of ISIS :1orglaugh
No. The USA is not ISIS. We know perfectly well the facts about its origins, how it spread, and it's ultra anti-american philosophy.
The fact it came into possession of a lot of US made weapons has nothing to do with its loyalties. That sort of thing happens in any chaotic battle zone, and was accentuated by how readily some Iraqi forces surrendered them in Iraq, by distribution errors on the part of the US government, and frankly by sometimes having to try to determine the lesser of two evils when those two evils are in conflict (in the case of Syria - ISIS and Assad).
Just cant find them. They must have some serious camo uniforms.
And they cant figure out who is funding this army of 100,000 "radical islamists". Cant figure out who paying them, arming them, feeding them, clothing them, transporting them. Cant figure out who is controlling them.
They just cant figure it out.
