They fixed the problem. Must've used new software.I'm going to update my Norton and maybe check out that AVG option. Thanks!:glugglug:
There is no excuse for not being protected nowadays, as so much of it is free: AVG, SpyBot, HiJackThis, Spyware Blaster. So, get protected :thumbsup:

Um, I'm going to use Premium Link Upgrade . And.. I'm going to be safe. You guys jump through ALLLL those hoops if you want. Surf smarter, not harder. And... with 4 programs protecting you? Sheesh. Why not just cure the underlying problem (browser) instead of focusing on the symptoms. (Spyyyyyware!)

You do know that AVG is one of the easiest virus protection programs to get round. The reason most think they haven't got viruses while using it is it doesn't pick them up. Even when you scan your computer. Why do you think it's free? Because it only gives you limited protection. Quality never comes free, you have to pay for quality.
It happens and you should report links with viruses. They come right off.
I just deleted all 9 links in 9 posts from a new, albeit, dearly departed member, who seemed to think members would enjoy being ****** to "okay" Active X controls popping up in little "Windows like" boxes in endless loops. When you closed the box, another popped up telling you to please download it, and when you closed that, around and around again. He was here for 25 minutes and I don't think anyone even saw him before he was "sent off".

Avast (free also) is another good anti-virus program which many prefer to AVG

You're giving people a false sense of security. There are several viruses associated with Firefox and several viruses that are independent of any browser.
I went years using IE Eplorer without any kind of protection. It was educated luck (opposite of dumb luck) that my computer never got infected. Just because it didn't get infected doesn't mean the danger wasn't still there.

well, yeah nothings perfect, thats a given but compare the 2 side by side. its a no-brainer. unless you're booting off linux and downloading is not going to happen, you will eventually end up with something.
ive always said, as time goes on, more exploits will be aimed toward the increasingly popular browsers like firefox and even mac systems. as more people use them, the more the ad companies and such will want to get in. its just common sense. meanwhile, stick with firefox. you sure as hell dont want to be using IE, its fucking suicide. i still havent been struck down and viri and spyware are my specialty. if i opened up IE id end up with something fucking quick.

than check for updates.

Two days ago, my gf downloaded the AVG free edition and another anti-virus, anti-spyware popped up and she did not know and download that one. it is a backdoor trojan *****. So be careful what's going on.
Sometimes, it is an organized crime who targeted you or someone and actually wanted you to buy their anti-spyware program.
Learn how to use safe mode and recognize the trojan ***** or virus and go to the computer and delete the virus (it is not that easy !)
Remember, AVG free edition in some cases may be attached to a virus, nothing is safe except you don't download any link or site, or any softwares.
