VHS era is winding down

Since everything is going to be blue ray they could show a classic movie in the Theaters every now and then. Some towns may do this just not where I live. There is already too much technology already. They need more, ways to access video games, and I'm not talking location. Variety, is what needs to be change if anything.

so did i. i mean, yeah a few of us have a tape or 2 but its a done deal. dvd is standard. i like my combo unit though. vcr/dvd just in case.

remember watching porn on vhs? torture if u try it now.

Yep, I still have some VHS movies and even have my VCR. They havent been turned on or even hooked up for over a year now.

I think VHS still has at least a few years left in it, I mean look at audio cassette tapes when CDs first came out. People thought when CDs came out audio cassette tapes will be dead but they are still being made by some manufacturers over 20 years since CDs came out. In terms of VHS tapes many manufacturers are still making DVD/VCR combis with some even aving Hard Drives in them so it's the best of three worlds at the end of the day. I have tons of things on hundreds of tapes that I recored from TV so eventually I will have no choice but to transfer them to DVD or maybe even onto hardrives, but that will take me a very long time. Most likely I will finsh that by the time that whatever will replace Blu-ray will come out. :1orglaugh

no way, you couldn't get porn on betamax. in fact, most people attribute that as the reason for the ultimate success of the VHS.

Besides VHS and Betamax there was a third format-V2000 - pioneered by Phillips and Grundig. It was the best of the three by a light year.VHS was by far the poorest but its developers were very crafty and allowed other manufacturers to use the system relatively cheaply so everybody went for it.

Are these the same people who said that was the reason why Blu-Ray had beaten HD-DVD?
