VCDs

Question: I've heard about a thing called VCD, where you can use your CD burner to put Mpeg/avi files onto CD's and play them in a DVD player. I've tried this using Nero with no joy. I'm not sure if I'm using the right type of CD or what. Does anyone have any advice on how to burn video onto CD?
This would be much appreciated.

it depends on the type of file and the type of dvd player you have, most cheap dvd players will play vcds, just look on the front of your player to see if it says vcd or in the instructions, and yea nero burns vcds, there should be an option for, if its an avi file it should burn it no problem if its mpeg you may have to d/l new plug ins for nero.

With the DVD X Copy, all you have to do is put in a blank DVD/CDRW and it will take over and do everything for you.

Most .mpg's you download are either VCD or SVCD (=Super VCD) compatible and if you use Nero all you have to do is follow the wizard. There are however .mpg-files out there that's not VCD/SVCD compatible, in these cases I use Premium Link Upgrade to convert the files.

I have never bothered much with .avi-files but it's pretty much the same procedure.
