"Vast majority" of Gitmo prisoners "never posed any real risk to America at all"

Re: "Vast majority" of Gitmo prisoners "never posed any real risk to America at all"

I didnt noticed you were a Vet.

But look at the post i made that you commented with sarcasm.

I'm not into army myself. Just lost family member as well. So you know how it is too. A good reason to have an icead tea there.

I still don't understand the sarcastic comment regarding my post, don_equis. (http://board.freeones.com/showpost.php?p=2641001&postcount=77). I'm sure you understand why i was reacting this way.

Overreacting? No.

Maybe just a misunderstanding? :dunno:

I love canadian bacon too...now why do they call it that? It looks like ham to me.

When next year will they get to this mess called Gitmo?

Hehe - we can maybe have some canadian bacon along with the iced tea (or scrap the iced tea for a cold beer, its better with canadian bacon). :)

Okay, how many of the internees have been convicted of serious crimes?

AFA, I think you'll be waiting quite a while to hear an answer on that one from any of the pro-Gitmo people here... (or anywhere).

Okay, how many of the internees have been convicted of serious crimes?

1. I don't know how many, just like you don't know how many are "no threat at all"

2. Having the advantage to actually been in Iraq I did see a lot of them crossing the Syrian border by Al Qaim and their car bombing staging grounds by Ta Lafar near Mosul an by the Ambar province. Trust me they were not coming over to sell us girls scout cookies. As a matter of fact that city Ta Lafar was being run by insurgents until the 3rd ACR got there, having a secret clearance I was able to see the unmanned remote controlled planes and see footage that you don't see in the news, such as "insurgents" killing iraqis's kids and then stuffing their dead bodies with explosives so when the grieving parents would come out and to get their kid's corpse it would blow up an kill them as well for not helping the terrorist.

3. As the new administration takes over these cases well see what happens. I know how bad the military is in keeping up with records in combat areas so I doubt that without any hard proof a lot of these folks would probably be let go and compensated.

Without a reason to be held, their human rights have been violated. Rights the US adhered to at least publicly until the Bush 2 administration, where laws were changed to protect the administration, and the Geneva Convention's conduct under war ignored.

Most people in the US are convinced the war in Iraq was started due to direct lies as a result of the Bush administration as was Vietnam also an illegal occupation. In that case also, despite clear but damning evidence there are those who cannot come to terms with the fact they were lied to, lost friends or family to the enemy, which was not an enemy until the invasion. That's very sad. There is no one to blame but Bush and the administration and journalists have made this abundantly clear. Radio right wing shitheads, might like to rant and rave and deny the truth, but they don't waste their time writing best selling non-fiction on the subject as do MANY leading US correspondents and authors.

If you can't see that, at this late point in this ongoing argument, this thread will be closed.

Why close it? Don't you wanna see what happens next year when they start dealing with them? It is a very up to date issue.
