If they are illegal why is E! and other entertainment news channels talking about them and never once mentioning she is underage? I would think they would be all over that.

She was born in 1988 and the photos were taken in 2007.

I just watched The Soup on E! last night and they showed where someone was looking at them on a website and video taped himself looking at them. It was hilarious how he got all excited.

Her lawyers are only trying to get rid of the photos on the internet in whole! Not due to any illegal activity, just moral privacy issues.

I honesty don't see how they are illegal if they are being "advertised" as entertainment news headlines. Especially the newest batch that just came up.

The first group of nude photos of her that leaked last year were taken when she was 18. Most people assume the more recently leaked nude pictures were from the same group, but . . .

Her only statement regarding these latest leaked photos was basically that she wasn't going to be making any statements about them. I think she could theoretically get in trouble for taking nude pictures of herself when she was underage so it'd be in her best interest to keep it as hush-hush as possible. Or at the very least for the "scandal" to pass as quickly as possible.

Well, if the fact her lawyers sent notices to website all across the internet forcing them to take them down wasn't enough reason . . . . . Exif data on the original photo files show they were taken in May and June of 2006 when she was 17. I'm no computer expert but if you'll read that wiki link on exif you'll see that data can't be faked.

Well, it was (entertainment) news and they're free to report on it. As long as they don't actually show any of the "naughty bits", they wouldn't get in trouble. Like I said most people are probably still under the impression all of the leaked nude photos are from the same group when she was 18.

The removal notices her lawyers sent out supposedly mentioned she was 17 at the time they were taken. I'm not entirely sure why that aspect wasn't more widely reported - maybe because of the possibility she may get in trouble like I mentioned.

You think the news would report that they are illegal in both stolen and the age aspect of it all and inform the people to stay away! Because the moment they mentioned new nudes you know people are gunning for them now! I don't know, the news doesn't make sense to me :rolleyes: :dunno:

All they worried about was another celebrity nude and overlooked an entirely important factor to it!

You sound like a 100% hypocrite by pushing the "it doesn't make sense" attitude... seriously. I do not thing someone is that naive. Especially in a forum like this.

Well... the pics leak. For a day or so. In the time frame of the internet, that's next to eternity, so every nekkid pics looker has them by now. But then, the news sites report about it.
First, it's called a scandal, then there are reports about lawyers threatening to take legal action against people who distribute these pics, also there is a statement from the movie distributor that says they support her, then there are discussions about minors and stuff and da internetz and dangers in da internetz and how actress xyz can do such a thing and in the end, the whole things wraps up with every news site/outlet saying that many news site/outlets covered the story which unfortunately fell right on the point of time of a movie a release and they just couldn't believe that it happend. (In this case: again.)
An unbelieeeeevable scandal.
The whole thing is just a joke in itself somehow.
That's why I closed the tab in my Firefox when I saw the thumbnails of the pics at egotastic (when they were online). The girl's a sell-out or there's another angle to it...
