A few weeks ago the Russian newspaper Izvestia, a well-known and authoritive daily published nationwide and abroad, came forward with something that would have been looked upon as a conspiracy theory if published by a tabloid.

The paper suggested that by attacking South Ossetia, the Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili had badly damaged a planned U.S. military operation against Iran. In the newspaper's opinion Georgia was supposed to play the role of another “unsinkable aircraft carrier” for the U.S., i.e. an operational and tactical base for U.S.
aircraft that would be making bombing raids into Iran. Something akin to what Thailand was in the Vietnam war.

The ***** shed will end when the nukes fly. Happy now? Funny thing is, that when the nukes fly, it could lead to human extinction. That includes you! WW3 is just around the corner. Its only a matter of time till it starts. And as we all know it will be nuclear. Ok, it probably won't completely wipe humans off the face of the earth, but it will put very sizable dent in the worlds population!

Its cool. I used to think the same way as you. Till I actually thought it through and realized that nuking the middle east (while on the surface an excellent idea :thumbsup might not be such a good move. We got away with that **** once, well, twice actually to put an end to WWII. This day and age with all the major countries having nukes...not gonna give us a free pass to play with the power of the sun like we did in the past! You think the world hates us now...

It's possible, but I think if anything it would have been just a base located in case something happened or to keep Iran in check. Unless Iran does something very aggressive, no one is going to do anything to them.

sorry but I cannot think this has any truth in it at all for one bush would never have got the dem controlled congress to go along with it

plus if there was ever going to be a military action against Iran it would be a bombing mission to take out there nuclear reactors why invaded it would not make sense when you can do this

but lets be honest here Iran will never get the bomb israel will hit there sites first and even if they did it would be a death nail for them because they could not use it against israel I am sure the us and others would tell them if they do they would hit them back with there's all it will do is do to Iran what sanctions did to Iraq under Saddam
