UN document would give 'Mother Earth' same rights as humans

:nono: The 'victim' must also have the ability to consent. 'Mother Earth' clearly does not.

(PS. Can we bring charges against her for kicking our asses periodically too? She kicked a whole lotta ass when she gave birth to that bitch Katrina...:cussing:)

She's clearing out the midwest day by day. Somebody's got to stop her. The bitch has a core made of solid iron and yet we still have to mine for scraps. If she won't play fair, why should we?

And don't even get me started on the moon...

We need to start being honest and stop pretending that we're worried about how nature will respond to us. Nature will be fine...nature will thrive in our absence no matter what the cause.

Based on that line of thinking, you're saying everyone should just do whatever they want and damn the consequences, so I have to assume you're joking, because the alternative is you're just insane.

If you want the planet to be fine then remove humanity. It's that simple.

The planet is not alive btw. It's what's on it that is.

No, what I'm saying is that we need to separate absurd concepts such as "raping the planet" and "violating Mother Earth" from out view of "protecting the environment". We needs to stop pretending that we're worried about the Eco system instead of our own society. The truth is that the Earth will always be a haven for abundant life until the planet dies or the sun explodes. Using the false concern of Gaia's health to tackle the problem in insincere bullshit.

If you don't want humans to meddle with the current state, fine. I can respect that. But don't pretend that our interest will fuck up the whole shabang.

For the EMPEROR!!
Who gives a shit, I mean in 3 billion years the Earth will be destroyed when the Sun goes Super Nova!

Well 'I' try and give a shit about the planet. Though people will always put greed and convenience before the environment maybe this bill will be a small start in the right direction. ... p.s It's more like 5 billion and our sun won't go nova (doesn't have the mass) it will become a red giant and eventually expand and engulf the earth. Then it will shrink to become white dwarf star. Sorry off topic.

Wasn't there a law passed in Australia calling for the slaughter of camels in the outback because they are supposedly methane producers and as such a risk to the environment?
Insane law in a country I thought was pretty cool. The libs are fairly insane down under.

There all as bad as each other. It's very sad really. I guess that's why we drink so much. :D

That just doesn't make sense to me. In a very real sense, the planet is being raped and the Earth will not always be a haven for abundant life. If we finally do destroy the ozone layer, life on the surface of the planet won't be possible. This, in turn, would impact life below the surface and in the shallow parts of the ocean, which would then impact life in the deep ocean. It's a domino effect and mankind is slowly committing genocide against every living thing on the planet, including ourselves. There is nothing insincere about protecting the health of the planet, because it simply protects our own health.

^ I agree. Some scientists beleive we're in the process of creating the next mass extinction that could be comparable to the Great extinction events ot the past. Love it or hate it, care or not care, the Earth is only one we've got. For now.

Horray for seeing my childhood entertainment becoming government policies.

There will always be pollution.

Absolutes are hard to prove.

When something seems like it can go on forever, it usually stops. Pollution is a byproduct of what is now quickly being considered "primative" forms of fuel. Clean the fuel and all you have really is heat, motion and light being generated.

PS> Socialism isn't the answer.....Raw naked capitalism will destroy us though.....Man needs to find a third way before its too late

If only every fourth or fifth person would simply off an attorney, we'd be in much better shape, guaranteed! :1orglaugh
Really, it's both sad and amazing to see how China and India as well as other emerging nations are racing ahead of the good ol USofA in the development of nuclear energy... You can thank enviro specialized attorneys for this.

Don't get me started!

:flees:

Communist states destroyed their respective environments. Everything was done for the state, damn the grass+water+air Comrade.
The pollution they created and still do (China currently) make anything done in the West pale in comparison.

Conspiracy...
Absolutes are hard to prove.

 Are you absolutely sure?

Another reason Communism never will work.

Cannot tell if serious facepalm. In case of serious:

I never had the word absolute in my sentence you added it. In general they are hard to prove such as saying "There will always be pollution".

If not serious: :hybrid:

You had the word "Absolutes" in your sentance.
So, I said absolutely. You didn't even get it.

There are absolutes and the are absolutely easy to prove.
You just have to want than accept the truth. :hatsoff:
