We needs to stop pretending that we're worried about the Eco system instead of our own society. The truth is that the Earth will always be a haven for abundant life until the planet dies or the sun explodes. Using the false concern of Gaia's health to tackle the problem in insincere bullshit.

That just doesn't make sense to me. In a very real sense, the planet is being raped and the Earth will not always be a haven for abundant life. If we finally do destroy the ozone layer, life on the surface of the planet won't be possible. This, in turn, would impact life below the surface and in the shallow parts of the ocean, which would then impact life in the deep ocean. It's a domino effect and mankind is slowly committing genocide against every living thing on the planet, including ourselves. There is nothing insincere about protecting the health of the planet, because it simply protects our own health.

When something seems like it can go on forever, it usually stops. Pollution is a byproduct of what is now quickly being considered "primative" forms of fuel. Clean the fuel and all you have really is heat, motion and light being generated.
