TV display fix...

what the fuck you lookin at?
So I get home from work today and find out my tv's display decides to take a ****. It turns on, flickers and right back out. I still get sound. Big fuckin deal. I could manage without sound. At least I'd still be able to play fucking video games.

I called the customer service line. My tv is out of warranty for over a year now. Go fuckin figure! They recommended a local electronics repair shop. Said sounds like the something or other to do with the display is burned out. Question is, what that something or other is (can't remember the name, but it started with an S I believe. And second anyone have a rough idea the cost of an out of warranty repair? Buying a new tv is out of the question at this point. But if the repair is under $100 that would be fuckin sweet, though I'm sure i'll be without games till fuck knows when

That happened to me years ago Legz, but it was a tube ty. Not sure what the issue might be with the new models.

No one is going to be able to give you useful help without knowing Make, model, size, age of the TV.

Oh yea, sorry still pissed about the whole thing.

Phillips 42" LCD. Was manufactured dec. 07.

That sucks man.

But, if it's too expensive to fix, take it to a big field, and beat it to pieces with a bat. Think of the satisfaction.

Ace Bandage

The one and only.
There's a small Chance that it's being caused by an HDMI cable (or similar input) connection. Check to make sure everything is plugged in properly. If nothing changes, try different cables if you have them.

Like I said, small Chance. If it doesn't work, you're probably going to have to bite the bullet and pay to fix it.

I unhooked everything and it still does it. Took it in to have it diagnosed and hopefully fixed for not to much. As of now I'm $50 in...Hopefully total bill will be under 200. Much past that and I might as well look for a cheap 32 inch replacement just to get by till I can afford one I really want!
