I know the summer is not over yet and the year is also not over but I walked away from watching Transformer 2 as if it was the best movie ever made. I waited like two hours to watch it and thought to myself this movie probably isn't gonna be worth it but after the movie I just wished I hadnt watched it yet so I can watch it again for the 1st time. Never a dull moment. Plenty of Action, some humor, and sickening hotness with Megan Fox. Bottom line Transformer 2 is the best movie in a long time.

My brother took my 12 year old nephew to see it for his birthday with six of his friends and I think that's the demographic they're targeting. I'll see it just to satisfy my curiosity and relive my childhood a bit. But the first one a couple years ago wasn't really that great. I'll keep an open mind about it but the Academy Awards will probably snub them again this time around.
Went to see this last night. It was good (it was also very long!) I don't think it was as good as the first one though, but rarely sequels are!
I respectfully disagree. I was really disappointed by it. Overlong, atrocious script, robots that somehow manage to commit a racial offense. Megan Fox is hot, but her fantastic ass acts far better than she does.
The action sequences are shot well, but the climactic battle at the end with Optimus lasts about 2 minutes, compared to about 20 minutes of screen time given to the "Twins", who, personally, made me want to hurt myself. How did anyone think they were a good idea?!
And they finally featured Soundwave (I.M.O the coolest Decepticon) and all they do with him is let him float in space while he gropes a satellite. And where did the transforming "noise" go from the first film, in which they used it a few times?
Exciting? Yes, in parts. A good film? Not for me.

I dont really agree with people who said it was too long. The movie kept me interested for however long the movie was from start to finish. I do agree with how the final battle scene was a little of a letdown just merely because of it's briefness.

That was an hyperbole to express my strong feelings for how much I enjoyed it.
I think that everything you said sums it up perfectly.I liked it for the good stuff like the action,and all the serious parts were pretty good,but the comedic elements were a total miss in my book.Those twins were a total joke,and a very bad one at that.They were the equivalent of Jar Jar Binks in the annoyance factor.
I really don't know what Micheal Bay was thinking with this movie.He puts comedic stuff in it,obviously for kids,but I think that the humor was way to vulgar for kids and preteens.So who is the humor for?I don't think the he actually thought that adults would like ghetto talking,and swearing robots.
This movie had good "wow" factor as far as the action goes,and that's about it.At least Agent Simmons wasn't so annoying this time around.
I total loved Agent Simmons in this movie. "One man alone abandoned by his country" lines were hilarious
I really want to like this movie (being a fan of the franchise) but this movie is a serious letdown. There are good parts like the forest fight, Sam (Shia once again came through with strong performance), Mikaela / Amy (the girls are hot), and the first fight against the mammoth Demolisher in China, but there's more plot holes that you can shake a stick at, Megan can't act, the US Military kicked too much ass (aside from Fallen they can take care of the rest of the Cons without Autobots' help), too many screentime given to the Twins and their stupid ghettospeak (facepalms), the unnecessary toilet humor that include dogs and Wheelie humping and Agent Simmon's thong shot, and the weakness exhibited by Decepticons throughout. The Cons may be big, bad, and imposing, but a few missles by the airplanes and that's all it takes to annihilate them. I can go on but you get the point. I don't know why the writers for Star Trek, which is an excellent movie btw, can do such a poor job for TF2. Bay will be Bay with his explosions and action, but he needs to show better judgment with the script. With a few simple rewrites this movie could've been so much better.

As a summer blockbuster it ticks all the boxes and is at best Okay. Felt it was geared more toward a young audience (much more so than the 1st one, which I thought was much better)
On a side note, I for one feel that Summer '09 has so far failed to deliver. Only movie worth adding to my home collection is Star Trek.
I loved Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and I will buy it when it hits DVD, however it wasn't as good as Transformers. So far the best movie of the summer and for that matter the year so far belongs to Star Trek.
havent seen it yet but the word at work is the movie is dogshit. way too long, difficult storyline to follow, weak storyline if you can keep up, all special effects and nothin more. and it drags on forever............ advice ive gotten so far is wait for rental. and i think im gunna take it.
Surprisingly for Micheal Bay, no :dunno:. It's actually quite a touching romance between one man and his tool.
