So, I was pudgy and out of shape at the end of my cop career. Stress was just ******* me, and the mental fallout from the shootout was doing quite a bit of damage. Since then, with my retirement, new job, and a hell of a lot better outlook on things, I got convinced to run this race next June, which is considered a "Half marathon"- 12.4 miles.
So roughly a month ago, I started running. Since I started at the job I'm at, I've been running on the top floor of the parking ramp (which is .1 miles per lap), and I've lost 19 pounds in four months. THe running- serious running- only started about a month ago, though.
I've been running about 2.5 miles a day recently. So it's training time! I have to go run right now (5am).
It's a long time until that race, but I plan to be in shape for that thing!
Wish me luck!
