I'm watching ROH TV now. Nice Red Dragon tag match to start. They just had a commercial where the Briscoes put over some lawyers.

What the heck kinda lawyers would use Jay and Mark to vouch for them?

Last Saturday Ring of Honor put on a great show. A lot of tage team matches, and a new wrestler, Moose.

Trust me, I really want TNA to stay as a legit competitor to WWE. TNA has pulled some elaborate works in the past, so if this is one of them, it's pretty epic.

I particularly love the Knockouts division, and how all the WWE "rejects" are actually doing better than the "Divas" (Sky, Taryn, Kim, Love). It would really suck to have to see them even have to consider going back to WWE.

Which is also why I'm hoping the signing is in fact a new knockout. Havok is a possibility, or maybe they're giving [NOBABE]Cherry Bomb[/NOBABE] a new name? I've seen Cherry perform in person and she is ridiculously hot.

Impact Wrestling Gaining Traction In Italy

Now for some good news for a change amongst all of the recent internet wrestling spin involving TNA Wrestling. TNA Impact Wrestling is gaining some serious viewers in Italy. Current viewership trends show that Impact Wrestling airing on Nuvolari TV, a Free-To-Air-SAT sports channel in the country is climbing towards the 200,000 viewer mark. Numbers that are remarkably close to TNA’s most coveted foreign market, The United Kingdom.

Most recently, Impact Wrestling scored 187,000 viewers and gained just over 1% overall market share in Italy for a Friday night and has easily taken the crown as their highest rated regular programming on the network. This is a very very rapid increase in viewers from just a few months ago when Nuvolari TV announced Impact Wrestling will air on the network. Impact Wrestling debuted on Nuvolari TV at a meager 70,000 viewers in April. Numbers indicate that by the end of July, just 3 months later Impact Wrestling on the network has more than doubled it’s viewership.

There have been one or two low fluctuations for Impact on Nuvolari TV, however Impact Wrestling continues to be one of Nuvolari TV’s strongest shows. Viewership totals for networks have shown that Nuvolari TV rarely surpasses the 1 million viewer mark for combined weekly views unless a major sporting event is airing. This indicates Impact Wrestling airing on Friday’s alone brings somewhere around the 15% of the overall viewers for the network.

We will have more info and details on Italy’s viewership numbers very soon.

TNA just finished their Impact tapings all the way until Sept 25 (No Surrender). That's 2 months worth of shows in an insanely short period of time... read into that what you will re the TV deal.

I think it hurts the product when you tape that far in advance, since spoilers inevitably work their way out; for example we now know who the new wrestler "H****" is. It also makes it difficult to tweak the angles if they flop with the crowd. On top of all that, it can't be healthy for the talent to tape that many shows without recovery time.

BTW does anyone know how to use spoiler tags here?
doesn't seem to work.

I don't believe there is a spoiler code on this site.

TNA has been taping too far in advance.

They also need to bring back the announcer's table.

WWE Causes Major Panic at TNA, Spike TV Update, Talents Worried
Posted by Eric Arrington August 9, 2014 1 Comment

- There was said to be panic backstage at the TNA Impact Wrestling tapings on August 6th, the second night of this week’s tapings. The cause of the chatter was news that came out about WWE possibly moving SmackDown back to Thursday nights.

This combined with everyone expecting some kind of announcement regarding TNA’s future with Spike TV caused people to worry. Regarding reports of Spike not renewing TNA’s deal and TNA management denying those reports, there are many people in the company that talk like they believe management but others are more skeptical.

TNA officials reportedly held a meeting the next night that left some talents in an upbeat mood but officials did not give a clear answer about their future with Spike. Talents were told previously that they would be getting good news at this week’s tapings.

It’s no secret that SmackDown going to Thursdays would hurt Impact’s ratings and any chance of a deal they may have with Spike and other networks. Spike likely would not move Impact to Friday nights because of Bellator MMA. Sources at Spike have noted that there is nothing new between the two sides since the reports from last week came out.

I don't think switching Smackdown to Thursday nights would have as much of an effect on TNA as some people think.

I doubt it. WWE is bleeding money.

8 Things You Didn’t Know About TNA Wrestling’s Mr. Anderson

TNA Wrestling came into existence more than a decade ago, shortly after the demise of WCW. To avoid any misconceptions, TNA stands for Total Nonstop Action. The name fits. The events are scrappier, edgier, and any TNA wrestler will gladly rake your face across the turnbuckle for suggesting otherwise.

The future is bright for TNA, which recently reverted back to the six-sided ring. Just ask Mr. Anderson, the two-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion, who’s enjoying all the extra room in the ring to work on his opponents.

Here are more things you didn’t know about TNA’s Mr. Anderson:

1. Mr. Anderson was born Kenneth Anderson and grew up in Wisconsin. He was an Army reservist about to enlist full-time when he first saw Stone Cold Steve Austin on TV. That’s when he decided to go into wrestling.

2. Mr. Anderson, sometimes known as Ken Anderson, wrestled as Mr. Kennedy and Ken Kennedy in the WWE between 2005 and 2009. He held the United States Championship for a month in 2006.

3. Mr. Anderson is a key member of the Immortal Wrestling Alliance. Original members included Hulk Hogan, Eric Bischoff, Jeff Hardy and Jeff Jarrett, founder of TNA. The alliance came to include Ric Flair, Scott Steiner and Tommy Dreamer among others.

4. Ken Anderson starred in the film Behind Enemy Lines: Colombia, the third film in the Behind Enemy Lines series. He played Master Chief Petty Officer Carter Holt, who was part of a Navy Seals team tasked with keeping the peace between the Colombian government and guerrilla insurgents. The film came out in 2009.

5. Mr. Anderson has competed multiple times on the TV show Family Feud, and appeared in a series of YouTube videos documenting his downtime between the WWE and TNA.

6. You may not find a bigger Green Bay Packers fan anywhere, even in Wisconsin. He once lost a bet with former Redskins defensive end Adam Carriker and had to wear a customized Redskins jersey to pay it off.

7. Mr. Anderson’s finishing move, for a time, was called the Green Bay Plunge and the Lambeau Leap. Draping his opponent over his shoulders, Mr. Anderson jumped from the second turnbuckle, flipping him on to the mat and driving his shoulders into his chest.

8. He now tops off opponents with the Mic Check. Standing next to his opponent, facing him, Mr. Anderson loops one arm around his chest and hooks one leg behind his leg. He then falls backward, slamming his opponent’s head into the mat.

I read somewhere that Lance Storm actually came up with "Mr. Anderson", as he called Ken that back in OVW in reference to the Matrix Movies.

Nice to see TNA has a home for now. Hopefully we'll see TNA go all out this fall to secure a deal for 2015.

TNA News: TNA’s Impact Wrestling Likely Switching Networks In January Of 2015:facepalm:

TNA Wrestling has been in a free-fall position for the last year. It seems obvious that the company is struggling, as evidenced by the fact that they are continuing to lose some major stars, and not just originals. Other major stars such as Bully Ray and Sting have also left the company in the last year. Was this something people did due to TNA going downhill? Not as much. Rather, most have left due to insulting contracts offered by the company.

AJ Styles alone has claimed dating back month ago that he already made what TNA offered him in his last deal, meaning he is set to make double what TNA’s offer was on the Independent scene. Understand that the Independent scene is better paying for stars like Styles than a televised company. That is saying a lot about the financial situation TNA has found themselves in. Yet they seem to be willing and able to contact a guy like Alberto Del Rio hours after his WWE release and offer him the world from the very beginning just to bring him in… and he isn’t even a ratings boosting star.

Financially, they are terrible. TNA has not been profitable for some time, which is why Panda Energy stepped in to kill off some random expenses TNA was building up on, such as random contracts that weren’t of use. However, TNA still was willing to offer random money out to anyone departing WWE. So it seems like TNA was in a weird position financially and could offer whatever they wanted with Panda Energy’s money, yet they would still lose money in the end doing so. Really, this has been the TNA formula for some time; TNA is not offering good contracts, which is why the talent wants to leave.

Bully Ray was said to have been insulted by the low-ball offer TNA offered him, which is why he left this past week. TNA also had no idea what they would have regarding a TV deal for their Impact Wrestling show.

TNA came to terms with Spike TV regarding a TV contract extension through December, but afterward, TNA had nothing of note to really go to. Today it is said that TNA does have a network to go to once the Spike TV deal expires. TNA is not letting anyone know who it is, but it is confirmed to be a smaller network. So many Americans may not have TNA starting in January of 2015, which will only hurt TNA financially.

FOX Sports once had TNA programming, as they were the first network Jeff Jarrett was able to seal up to show TNA per week. Eventually, once Sting and others arrived, Jarrett was able to make a deal with Spike TV to bring in TNA. Spike TV once had WWE RAW and felt like having wrestling again could be big for them like it was with RAW, of which they claimed to have passed over contract wise. In reality, it was the network’s top show and still has the highest ratings of any Spike TV program. Of course, this was Spike’s error, and that is why TNA was given such a nice offer.

They were able to negotiate something that worked for both and over the years, and both sides were happy. The last year or so, however, Spike has not be thrilled with TNA’s performance. In fact, word is that due to TNA’s lowest rating in years for their poorly promoted move to Wednesday Night show, Spike is not happy at all. So negotiations about a return to Spike seem highly doubtful, especially when Wednesday night might bring in very low ratings for Impact Wrestling more so than Thursday did.

FOX Sports was the first network TNA was on, and a network similar to where it was at the time could be where TNA lands. While it is unknown what network it is at the moment, speculation will build. TNA could also be playing people and saying there is a network when there is not. We will have to see. However, Spike TV is most likely not going to be the home of Impact Wrestling at the start of 2015. It is said that the only reason TNA was extended to the end of the year was because Spike TV was “being nice” to TNA after years of having them on the network.

Many believe if Spike TV and TNA do not come to terms, TNA may lose their biggest names such as Jeff Hardy and Kurt Angle when their deals come up. Both men have expressed a desire to return to WWE, so that could very well happen in 2015. We will have to wait and see what happens with TNA, but for now there is word of a new network and Spike is not in the running to keep them most likely despite rumors of negotiations.

"Today it is said that TNA does have a network to go to once the Spike TV deal expires. TNA is not letting anyone know who it is, but it is confirmed to be a smaller network."

This sounds desperate. Either:
1) They don't really have an offer and it's just a classic negotiation tactic, like selling a house. "Well if you don't want it for that price, I've got this other guy who's waiting to jump on it!"
2) The offer/network is so bad they're willing to any other offer out there. There hasn't been any news suggesting they are no longer negotiating with Spike, or anyone else, so they're still looking.

If they really have a deal and could live with it, they'd be announcing who it is so the network can start promoting the show.

It's also really sad that you could make more in the indies than TNA, seeing how they usually pay only a couple hundred dollars a show with no other benefits.
