"Tomonobu Itagaki, the controversial game designer behind the resurrected Ninja Gaiden series and the various Dead or Alive games, has quit Japanese dev company Tecmo. Itagaki's move comes on the eve of his latest game's US release, Ninja Gaiden II, and just days before the game ships globally."

On one hand I'm kind of sad because I love the DOA and Ninja Gaiden series and this means that Itagaki will no longer be making them anymore but on the other hand Itagaki probably makes more money than all of Tecmo combined. His DOA series and Ninja Gaiden series are the money makers at that company. Itagaki is the type of guy who likes to act like a rock star and it's very rock star of him to quit Tecmo the day Ninja Gaiden II is released.
