The mods don't because the mods can't. Your rep history is private as far as I know. This means that I can't see your rep history & you can't see mine. I can't see whom you've repped & I can't see whom you've been repped by (either + or -) & I have to say I doubt the mods/admins have the ability to see other people's rep history.
So unless you report them, there's little the mods/admins can do & new posters will just have to accept that this happens, as there's little they can do besides reporting the person - repping them (except post good posts which will earn them enough + rep so that these people won't be able to do much damage...).
Thanks for your reply. I agree with all that you have said. I think reporting these handful of bad apples is the answer. :hatsoff:
I've disagreed with a lot of people on here and never gotten neg repped, even by the older members. Everybody's been real cool. Of course I've never neg repped anybody either. Maybe your friend neg repped them first? :dunno:
A few bad apples hiding in the the crowd. Not hundreds or thousands of them.
OK. Let's change places for a minute. Image one of your good law abiding friends has been beaten up by the police and me listening to you tell his story and my reply is I've never had any problems with the boys in blue so he MUST have provoked them. But you are sure he did nothing wrong. He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Sadly there will always be a few bad apples in any situation where there is a large number of people interacting. Schools, hospitals, wall street, forums etc.
However, this situation is different because we are in a forum where you are only allowed ten minutes to edit a post. When I first realised this I wasn’t happy but it does have its advantages i.e. a situation like this. Members can not erase their post history.
You suggest my friend may have provoked this situation. Well all you have to do is send me a quick PM and I’ll send you this now banned member and my friend’s user names. You can then take a good look at both their previous posts and I’m confident that after glancing at just a few pages of the now banned member’s posts you will be in no doubt that his goal was to provoke trouble and I’m sure that this is why he has been banned. Look out for the comment he made in a porn star's thread that lead her to politely tell him to keep his comments to himself.
Also note the visitor message he sent to my friend which is still there for all to read. However, what I found very interesting was that my friend copied and pasted the rude comment he received in his rep list and sent it back to this individual in a visitor message and he deleted it because he was embarrassed by his own words. But what he failed to realise is his posts are still here as clear evidence of the type of behaviour that got him banned. I have nothing to hide. Check my posts I'm here to have fun and I am. I’ll await your PM. :wave2:
