I'd recommend starting with solo porn.

If you're used to just shooting nudes there's not much sense in jumping straight to real porn/ filmed sex.
It's always easier to move forward and do more than it is to go backwards and do less.

In the end it's all about YOU, and your fans will appreciate you doing whatever it is you enjoy & are comfortable with.

We always want more...once we all see that your stuck in a genre you will lose followers. I don't even have to name the amount of women that are stuck in this rutt.

Of course there are also all the women that have did fine sticking to the same genre or didn't lose popularity any more than if they had just stuck to the same thing so you should probably speak for yourself. Not to mention there is the "you can't go back" factor where once a performer goes further she can't then go back to softer stuff and usually have the same success she did in the past with it. Even if for some reason the break the odds and do have that success of the past they will forever have to listen to a vocal minority incessantly bitch and moan about how they don't do something or other anymore.

There has been a lot of performers that have had a minor and short term boost...and then little to show for it afterward from getting into harder stuff. Despite some fans perceptions going hardcore isn't some big guaranteed money maker or popularity driver, especially in today's porn. That might have been only a little bit true in the past in certain circumstances.

In regards to not being able to go back - that is generally true. There are a few girls that I think could do it - I think Esparenza Gomez could do it (she actually doesnt do any solo porn or softcore porn - I wish she would). Teal Conrad could go back to solo and softcore only if she wanted. I think if Briana Lee went into hardcore b/g she would be able to go back to softcore and solo only. But you can do solo and sofcore work in addition to the b/g as long as you continue to do the b/g somewhat regularly. I wish more pornstars would do that. I wish more pornstars would pose for sites like metart and femjoy. I do think that you can afford to do less scenes than the average pornstar does today. In fact, I think to many of them do too many scenes. They start to wear out thier welcome no matter how hot they are. Lisa Ann is the perferct example. A few years ago, she was shooting as many times as 15 days a month. That is too much in my opinion.

If you are succesfull at softcore/solo porn, you are going to be successfull at b/g porn if it is done right. If you perform well, if you are comfortable with what you are doing, and if you are willing to do what is expected in today's industry, Im pretty sure you will get more fans and keep them. As I said in another thread, Im pretty sure Priya Rai has more fans than she did before she started doing hardcore. Im sure atleast in terms of the money and business she doesnt regret it. That was the biggest contreversy in transitions to b/g porn that I have ever seen. She used to be a softcore explicit model that was exclusive to foxes. She had a personal website that was run by foxes, and each set costed $10 !!! Each set!!! THen virutally over night she was performing in gonzo porn scenes. You have to understand that back in the early 2000s, foxes was sort of like the new up and coming playboy/penthouse.
