You can plan well ahead because that event only happens once every 5 years :)

I went there 2 weeks ago, it's great to see all those boats and you can actually go on a lot of those big ones and check them out.

The port of Amsterdam is busy on any given day, but the SAIL weekend was insane.

I didn't go in (I hate Amsterdam personally) but I did watch it on cam. It was absolutely impressive how the ferry managed to keep crossing through the SAIL traffic without crashing into anything, or going over the tiny boats.

I think Anders went in and braved it, but quickly got distracted by the people and started taking pictures of weirdos.
 
I've been to the Netherlands a few times. The port of Amsterdam is not one for the bucket list. The 'coffee' shops are, though I have no recollection of this.

To clarify, I meant Amsterdam in general for my bucket list....not just the port. Thought this was obvious....evidently not. :dunno:
