yesterday i had a fantastic day, i finally got my car back. i had a newer engine put into my car, things with the lady were good. all in all i had a great day. i wake up this morning, get ready to go to work, go grab my car keys, gone. i can not find my car keys, i have looked outside, inside, everywhere and i can not find them. i truly believe these keys are gone, now im unsure if i can go to the dealership and have new keys made, do any of you know about that? thanks:helpme:

i have a 1996 chevy lumina, i bought it from my uncle and i only got one set.
I used to have a '96 Lumina. I think you can still get a set made from a dealership, but it will probably cost you. I hope your Lumina does better than mine. I have never been so happy to get rid of a car in my life, that thing was a piece of shit in every definition of the term.

get the VIN number from the front dash (gotta be on the outside of the car looking in, right on the bottom right corner, write it down.) bring it to a GM dealership and they will put it into the computer and will order you a new set. you MAY need other info about the car. most likely it will be found on the driver door when its open
They can make you a replacement set of keys, but they'll charge you an arm and a leg. My mom once lost her keys, and they charged her $150 dollars at the dealership for the replacement.
Go to NAPA and buy an new ignition switch. It'll come with its own key, it's surprisingly easy to install and it's only about 20 bucks.
As far as locking your door, you're on your own with that one.
i ended up getting a new set, cost me about 20 bucks.

that peter said is also good. easy to install. i just hope i never lose my main set of keys for my beamer. heard for the model i have, its around $900 to $1000
