This should be mandatory for all cars.

It's going to make it's debut on the 2012 Ford Focus.

I hate people who just slam open their door without looking.

it'll still put a nice crease in the the other door. its just protecting the paint on its own door.

Good one, and of course it's a product of one of the Big 3 so you just know it will suck and break and beyond epic fail and Ford will be forced to issue a mandatory recall of every vehicle with one of the stupid things and thousands of people will sue and it will end up costing Ford a bazillion dollars and making the baby Satan cry.

Umm... those have been around since the eighties.... its just that they came in the shape of a piece of plastic that you attached to your door using the adhesive they came with so they didnt have the fancy pop out action going for them...

Big whoop for ford....

The car company that still uses a dos-based computer system for their retailers... god I hated when ever a ford owner came in through the door at my old job... them and Land Rover... urk...

These things look hideous when they are stuck to the doors with adhesive so its cool they found a way to hide them when door is closed.

Will it be able to close if it malfunctions and doesn't retract? What if the door closes too fast like little kids tend to do and it doesn't retract in time?

Seems like a $1000 add-on for a $20 product you can get at a auto store.

What else... Oh yeah...don't park so close to cars. It's the asshole in the other car you have to worry about.
