I spent a week in Waxahachie one day.
That's only two counties over, of course it would take longer to drive from here to Waxahachie than it would to drive from Murphy to Nags Head, but at least you could get decent roasted pig along the way.

I have never driven the state of Texas although my ****** drove across country when I was a teen. We only went through the Texas panhandle. Amarillo was a neon lit trucker heaven. The landscape started looking western once we ****** Amarillo.

this morning driving down I-5 the sunrise coming over the cascades under heavy cloud cover looked like Mt. Doom in the Lord of the Rings but before Sauron took over but because it was just beautiful.
