This is so annoying...any other recent grads?

One needs to put in a whole lot of extra effort. Google the volunteer openings in your area. I am sure there is a company or a municipal/county branch that caters for students who need experience. All you really need is at least one year to add onto your C.V. 2 years is even better. No one can argue with that.
Ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you.

If you need fare, maybe the company will at least help you out with that. Don't be afraid to ask. People love gettin' sumfin' for nuttin.' Look at how whatshisname had to battle in "The Pursuit Of Happyness." (Based on a true story).

Let me just add what you are going through really is most unfortunate, just to not be insensitive. Sorry to hear it.

It hasnt been a good atmosphere for graduates for YEARS. You dont see the ads in the paper asking for this degree and that degree PLUS 2-5 years experience for no reason. There just isnt enough room for unskilled workers. A college grad is an unskilled worker. You have to actually PROVE YOURSELF on the job for employers to believe you truly have the nerve to withstand the fields you wanted to get into. Chances are.. most of those jobs are taken by people without degrees who knew how to do all that stuff without taking a course/classes.

I hate to harp on the subject, but when you have the skills.. you just have to prove it to the employer. Experience bedamned if you know WTF you're talking about. These recent grads never get the jobs they want, they have to start at square 1 like everyone else. Except they get a LATE start. 4 year IT degree? Comcast cable installer. Business major? Shift supervisor.

I know its hard. And believe me I am a grad student too who is going to graduate soon. But I guess its a path we have chosen (to specialize). We have to pay the price. So just have faith my friend. just have faith.......

It's just the way it is. A B.A. or M.A. amounts to toilet paper. It's a big scam. The whole thing is rigged for the schools and book companies to make $$$. Learn a trade: make $35/hr

Its true. The job prospects in the trades is substansially higher for a few reasons. My little brother is graduating from trade school in June and already has landed a job as an aircraft mechanic and he's starting out at nearly $20 an hour as an APPRENTICE. His college debt will be wiped clear within a year or two, and he couldn't be happier!

I've been waiting close to a year just to START the classes I want. I suppose I'll learn more in the field I'm interested in for the future in time (which will really help long run), but for the time being, it really sucks. I can't even find a shitty job to ease up the weight. Even had to move back in with my folks, along with every single other friend I have who hasn't had a secure job for at least 12+ consecutive months now. We're all losers I guess.

T82,

I accept a lot of what you say, but take objection to the assumption that we think a degree is make up for not having talent. I'd moderately talented.

It's never enough. You wouldnt have made this topic if you didnt have that mindset that a degree means you'll get what job you want. So you have a degree.. do you have talent? So you have some talent, do you have patience? Will you take charge? Go past what was in the job description? Will the employer even be in business a year from now? Will the employer notice you have nothing to be responsible for - No mortgage, wife or kids.. nothing holding you to that job.. you're expendable and could quit anytime if you find a better offer or just get pissed off enough to walk away.

What experience do you have? Was it JUST college or was it a top level college? What else did you study? Hell.. are you gorgeous to look at, or just average? Where did you grow up?

All goes into equation. Degree = Liability. They expect MORE, n'less

That's a new take on events for me. I have some work experience between my 2 stints at university (2 degrees, right now regret both. Am bordering on going postal if I dont get a job soon).

I'll just have to wait, but the idleness is killing me. I worked hard, stayed in school, am a decent guy...I just want my payback from life in the form of a decent job and a regular fuck [from a decent looking chick, 5/10+ on the scale]. Is that too much to ask?

No that's not too much......and I appreciate saw some longer statement on your post......otherwise you always very short.....thanks for this much interest.
hopefully your life will be back on the track......just don't loose hope.....:)

Its hard not to lose hope. Especially when you see folk having a much better time of it, given you out scored then in academic life, are better looking and more out going.

Appreciate the support.

Man, this is depressing now.

I just want a cold soda and a fuck, and am willing to give up ambitions of a job. Or go to university again...on the theory that sooner or later it has to pay off.
