I think he officially went off the deep end after losing the 2000 presidential election. Remember the weight gain and shaggy beard he sported in the months following his defeat? And ever since then he's been acting unstable.
The headline is not indicative of what Al Gore said.

How exactly are people who don't believe in his views anything like racists?
One group wanted to keep a whole race of people down (and I would argue that's still happening today with the way the Democrat Party hands out freebies that disproportionately go to blacks and the way they tell them society is keeping them down, despite the fact plenty of blacks have succeeded in life but did so with hard work just like everyone else, that just so happen to also disproportionately vote Democrat, anyone see a connection there?), and the other group believes that the Earth's climate can and has changed without our influence, and so it could be again, if it's even happening.

I knew that Gore was probably inspired by what Perry has been saying. Perry is supposedly the leading republican in the polls since he announced. Obama is just licking his lips at the idea that the republicans seem to be headed towards nominating someone like Perry who is another republican former texas governor (remember GWB? lol) but much more looney than Bush on issues like climate.Some of you can argue climate change all you want here but make no mistake about it, politically to have a position that says climate change is not real or not man made is an extreme right wing position that will run independants away. People like Perry/Palin/Bachman make Romney or McCain look liberal they are so far right. The republicans are really like the dems were in the 70s when they nominated George McGovern. Obama should be vunerable with unemployment and confidence in the economy being what it is but the republicans have to put up someone reasonable and that don't look very likely.:2 cents:

Good for Perry for taking shots at Gore and others who believe in that stuff.
It's still way too early to know who will be the Republican nominee, and that was just the first polls with Perry as something new. Give it some time and the polls may even back out.
I'm not too worried about independents, they don't like Obama any more than those of us on the right do, and the last time we nominated a 'centrist' (McCain) look who we got for Pres, Obama. I say run hard right and show the clear differences between the left and right (and win or lose with our convictions and not what someone says people wanna hear), not left and left light.
People like Perry, Palin, and Bachman don't make Romney or McCain look liberal, Romney and McCain did that to themselves with their positions and voting records.
As for the Republicans being like the Democrats in the '70s, I'd say it's more because of the elites at the top and a bunch of RINOs that have made the RNC inhabit the spot on the political spectrum once occupied by the DNC, before they moved even further to the left to where they are now.
How so? Read the article and watch the interview. Al Gore never says, “Global warming skeptics are this generation’s racists.” The headline is simply meant to mislead and incite anger. In fact we know you and the headline writer are lying because Gore never even says the words “global warming” in the whole interview.
What he does say is that back during the early parts of the civil rights movement, racism was much more socially acceptable especially in the south. But after time, things changed when it became less socially acceptable. That is the way, he believes, that change will happen when the majority of people realize the science of climate change and becomes “less cool” (my words) to deny the science.

Umm, I thought most people already believed that 'man-made climate change' was real and happening, and those of us who didn't believe it were in the minority? Or, is that a lie too?
Beyond that, 'consensus' and 'majority views' have nothing to do with science. That's democracy, which is just mob rule.

there is a lot of racism today in the states,
man made racism, part of their plan.
instead of just leaving it alone, the schools, news media, hollywood and other influential entities have purposely created a society 2011 style of scared , guilty whites and angry, violent blacks....at least as far as youth goes.
And all youth grows up eventually.
Its just gonna get worse.
Race is talked about more today in the states than ever before, and mostly by the people who claim not to be racist........fucked up in't it?
Not only that and its taught intentionally wrong just to make blacks and whites have these feelings.
Its all part of a power control plan in which the creators and perpetrators of it could care less about either group.
People need to wake up and gore needs to shut up and stop trying to cause more trouble.
Right now if i turned on the Tv and heard "Gore has been shot" I would be glad because as far as I see it he is a traitor, and they shoot traitors don't they?
It is an overwhelming majority among scientists, especially in fields that study such things and a majority in among people who are educated. However there is certainly not an overwhelming majority among the masses. I’m pretty sure you know that and you are trying to be slick and confuse people.
No consensus has nothing to do with science. Majority views and consensus DOES have everything to do with implementing policy.

Well, it does alittle, because if you 'believe' something may be true, you attempt to use science to validate that belief. Then when you get your results, ideally you should be happy either way because then you know for sure.
And the reason I keep boiling 'man-made climate change' down to a belief is because at this point, that's all it is. The belief that the climate is changing (which I concede it may very well be, given the Earth's climate has changed before), and that if it is, it is somehow our fault (which is the snag), despite the fact the Earth's climate has changed many, many times before we were here and while we were here but could not possibly have had anything to do with said change in the climate.

You had me with you for the most part (I don't hate Democrats, I just think their ideas are wrong) right up until Gore gets shot. I would not be glad and do not want him shot, because it'll inevitably get blamed on the right, and he does more harm to himself and his beliefs by going out there and saying the things he does. And as to shooting traitors, I believe a trial is involved first.

And actually, I wasn't trying to be slick or confuse anyone. The way it's presented is that most people agree with the majority of scientists that say it is happening, and those of us who do not are in the minority.
Yeah, majority views and consensus do have everything to do with implementing policy. In this case, the policy that if anyone knew the truth of, they wouldn't back it. The policy that has Al Gore, GE, and those running those carbon exchange things or selling carbon offsets standing to make alotta money if this all goes through, and the rest of us wind up in the Middle Ages or worse, and alotta people die from starvation because we can't farm as efficiently as we once could. But those are the ones on the reasonably sane left, the ones on the far, crazy spooky left (ones like in ELF and ALF, and others like them) want drastic reductions in the Earth's population, meaning many, many millions (if not billions) of people die. And by the way, this isn't the first time something like this (crazies on the left wanting to get rid of whole chunks of the population) has happened either. Happened back in the late 1800s, early 1900s. People (progressives on the left) wanted to get rid of the undeserving masses (us little people they either didn't agree with, or in many cases, due to their ethnicity, usually Jewish or black) just taking up space and getting in their way or were somehow taking money and resources from them who somehow deserved it more. Just some of them were more successful in their attempts than others, and those others were stopped because the general population realized what they were saying and planning to do was insane. Not alot has changed in 110 years, huh?
So people that don;t believe in climate changer are racist...well Ok, they're ALL conservatives so I guess you have a poin there Will...Conservatives are racist.:elaugh:

Sorry to be so serious about this but ........I'm serious.
Gore has done nothing but try to cause trouble at least since he lost in 2000, actually before.
These politicians today, the voters can't win no matter who they vote for., and we can't start a revolution to take back control because they'd put us right down.........so a few of them getting popped here and there might make a lot of them consider a different line of work besides selling out the country for a big bank account

'Conservatives are racist.' Really? You're gonna try to say people on the right are racists. So, I suppose all those blacks that are conservative are what? Self-hating? How exactly does that work in your mind?
Perhaps you should take a look at the Democrat Party's long history of racists, and the Republican Party's history, seeing as how the Republicans came about to free the slaves and all, and the Democrats' purpose for existence seeming to be to to keep blacks down and under their thumb.
