bubb ... it's depicting the convenient difference that for example: ONE Black person gets killed by a White person ... in ANY incident (Not just the Maggot Floyd incident) and immediately Black Lives DO Matter and the entire country gets burned, looted, destroyed, occupied to get Eye for an Eye Justice.

However, load after load of Blacks get killed by Blacks in Chicago and other cities EVERYDAY and not a peep. Suddenly Black Lives do NOT matter. Suddenly No Eye for an Eye Justice is necessary ... much less DEMANDED.

Jeez, I don't know. I have a hard time not saying "listen to the officers with drawn guns, and don't lunge for the knife in the car, the car with children in it". It seems like pretty sound "not getting yourself killed" advice. But some people react differently to police instruction.

Queen's still here - the tone in their voice should tell you that they aren't gangsta-hip-hop-frontin', yo. They mean to shoot you if you don't listen. Queen's not a lunkheaded punk, full of bullets. But that was a choice 😉

What an appropriate thread for today's time.

We can't agree and I think we've all drawn to our corners and aren't listening. It is human nature to confirm our bias, but everyone (#metoo) are using whatever mental entrenching tools we have to not budge.

Its sad. I think the kid (young adult) who fired off rounds and killed people is a perfect example. He shouldn't have been there with his rifle. He is responsible for what he did and his life is over. So are the lives of the people he killed. The protesters chased a guy with a rifle. What were they thinking? The guy shouldn't have been there and they are not responsible for being murdered, but it defies logic. I know I don't have all the facts.

Should we crack down on the protests that become mobs, even for the safety of the mob? I don't know.
Even on this board, I see people presented with facts and then retreat in disagreement because of something that they "believe" that is in opposition to facts.

We're all fallible. We need to back away from memes, back away from trying to be a social justice warrior, back away from trying to be "right". Empathy is really trying to understand someone else's point of view and pain. Maybe we all need to take a breath before replying.

It would be uplifting to see a post that said, "I understand what you're saying. This is what I'm thinking" instead of "I have no tolerance for...".
