maybe she put the cat in the persons garbage because she assumed it lived there and she didnt want it to be roaming in the streets and assumed that they would go to the garbage sooner or later??? its not like the cat was going to die , that was the 1st thing i thought of and i think it makes sense.

No excuse for throwing the thing away but how many times has the cat been on her back fence screeching and fighting all night? Obviously something was going on if they felt the need to record something..I didn't watch the whole thing but from what I could see it was it was odd this particular angle was right on the incident. If someone was deliberately recording this and they were there...why didn't they do something?
