You know the saying, "Don't attribute to malice what can be adequately explained by stupidity (or incompetence)."
There is a very similar offshoot to that that I would like to call "Don't attribute to malice what can be adequately explained by greed." It seems like the most likely case here. They probably just saved a couple of pennies a cup by having a simple red color.
Of course it's not something remotely serious enough to get upset about either way.
Also, how horrible is it that somebody recognize there is more religions or lack thereof out there and want to be as inclusive as possible? It's not like there is just one that celebrates things at the end of the year. Gosh darn it almost makes good business sense.
