The Walking Dead on AMC

Brilliant! Some things were a bit silly but overall - I really enjoyed the story, the score when used, and the costume/makeup. I have never read the graphic novel.

Looking forward to seeing the story unfold next week.

This wasn't the greatest pilot like everyone is saying. It started off really slow but picked up about halfway through the episode. Overall the pilot was pretty good and I'll be tuning in next week.

I nearly shit my pants when he came around the corner on the horse and there were 10,000 fucking zombies there ...

Pretty damn good. I always thought there should be a long running series about zombies.

Who knew killing zombies could be emotional?

:dunno:

and that's exactly why a zombie apocalypse could happen, I mean, could you really take a sledgehammer to your granny's head? Or your son? Then you get bitten...latter, rinse, repeat

Just got home so I'm barely watching it today, plus a got a bit of a buzz going, couple of drinks, usually for me drinks + horror stuff = nightmares, beautiful, beautiful nightmares!!

Ok, so I fell asleep for 10 minutes last night while watching.

... the cop goes back to put the mangled corpse in the park out of it's (her?) misery.

He tells it/her "I'm sorry this happened to you" before blowing it's/her brains out.

Who was it? Was that his wife?

No that was the first zombie he saw once he had left the hospital. I guess he felt it the moral thing to do to go back and finish that hot piece of tail off before anyone else got to her.

His partner, and I presume best friend, has run off with his wife and child. Sounds like a pretty decent start to a plot to me. What more do you want from a zombie apocalypse?

wait!

his buddy out there in the trailer camp is with his(the star of the show) wife and kid?
are ya sure?

he kissed her!
oh now i'm pissed.

i thought it was his wife, the buddys.

**Spoilers and half-baked opinions alert**

Perhaps I am over-reading things here, but I've a feeling these are not you typical horror movie zombies. They seem to have semblances of memories, which I've a feeling will play on later in the series.
The little girl zombie picks up a teddy bear. Wife/Mom zombie keeps trying to get in the house...even seems to be talking to herself. The zombie in the park the cop shoots seems to be obsessively crawling towards something. There was also a zombie in a business suit in Atlanta who seemed just a might bit more attentive than the others (dude with wavy hair).
Even without that, there is quite a bit of the human element which is well played so far - the husband not being able to shoot his wife was well done.

Yeah, you mean the guy with the orange eyes!

I wonder if we'll see more of him? In the preview for next week, you hear someone announcing that the zombies have taken over the cities. Perhaps he will be some sort of leader?

I fucking hope not, Romero tried that same shit and it ruined his entire franchise.

I thought the pilot was great and I think this is going to be a hell of a series.

Good news for everyone who liked it!
The ratings of the pilot were through the roof. 5.3 million people watched the premiere. Including reruns the pilot has been watched by 8.1 million viewers. That does not yet include people who watched it online or recorded it and watched it later.
Concerning the target audiences, which is the most important for advertisers, it was the best cable premiere this year.
Rumor has it, that AMC will announce the production of a second season probably after the next episode already.

I LOVE the show so far!
That's all I'll say. I will not read anything else here, because I don't want anything to ruin it for me.
As you were.
