The Walking Dead on AMC

..., I was just about ready to stop watching it last year. I'm glad I hung in there.

Yeah, me too. I had my personal TWD crisis during the first season where I wasn't sure if I'm really enjoying this properly, at times I had to drag myself to watch a new episode. So I didn't bother with season 2 at first, but somehow I got interested again, and just recently I watched the whole second season on one day and now I'm absolutely hooked. Thinking about getting the graphic novels as well. I'm fucking lovin't this.

One big plus certainly is the fact that Robert Kirkman uses the killing off of main characters to keep everyone on its toes, that adds a lot to the whole concept, no matter if it's the comics or the show. So I guess it's good riddance to Shane and Dale, along with the likes of Eddard Stark and Opie.

Anyhow, looking forward to next Sunday... (and can't wait for Justified to return).

Yea, in the comic book, Dale at this point in the story is still alive and helps Hershel plant a bunch of crops to grow at the prison. A death later on in the graphic novel, that took place in an issue released this summer, is one of my three fav characters. At the end of Compendium one, one of my fav characters dies in that as well. The issue released in the summer will be in compendium two, and I'm gonna be so sad when I read it. I've only heard about what happens. Plus anyone new to the graphic novel, Darryl and Merle aren't in it, well the stories I've read at least.

Did the gov shoot down the heli at the begining? When I was watching it, I thought I heard the heli being shot at. After seeing the end, I wouldn't doubt if he did.

I think he did, Red - twice. Remember, the chopper was having some problems before their engine really gave out. I am thinking it was Merle who actually pulled the trigger - he seems to be the sharp shooter of the group (remember the zombies in the search lights later). All of this, it would seem, in order to get some more ammo, and power.

T-Dog, I'm going to miss ya :(

One of the prisoners is 1) black 2) strong 3) tough 4) soft spoken

There can only be ONE T-Dog.

Wow, that was a pretty big episode.
Sucked about T-dog...but it seemed like his time was coming. Kind of like the other Hershel daughter. The blonde. Only a matter of time, just saying.
And as for Lori...well, looks like they are going in yet a different direction from the comic (good thing, too)...but this was a very dark direction, as well.

Lori too? I'm actually surprised, I mean, in a zombie apolcalypse, I wouldn't shoot my mom until she was reanimating and I didn't even see if Lori died.

Now without her yelling "Carl get in the house/cell" and worrying about him all the time maybe Carl can become something like a kiddie version of Daryl.

And, yes, I'm going to miss.....what's his name?

Holy shit at tonites episode. I coulda seen the T-dog thing coming, but Lori getting taken out so early in the season? Shocked!

Those walkers really did a number on T-Dogs body. I still can't believe the episode, it was so fast and I am glad they went a different way than the graphic novels in the terms of Lori's death. In the graphic novel Lori died in a prison raid by an attack from The Governor and his men. Rick, along with multiple survivor's ended up getting out of the prison. Carl and Rick are on their own for I would say about two weeks. While on the road they find a house. At the house, Rick keeps getting these phone calls from a phone that looks kinda old. The lady on the other side is calm, nice, and a welcoming voice to the chaos that has been happening. During one of the phone calls, the chord from the wall where the phone has been hooked up is disconnected, but Rick is still talking to the lady on the other side of the phone call. The whole time before this, the lady on the other side never said her name and Rick never asked her. So he finally asks what her name is and she says its Lori. Rick goes beserk and ends up shooting the phone.

It was def a shocking episode, but in the preview for the next episode it looks like my fav character Glenn and Rick are pushing and shoving each other a little bit. I hope its not serious. When I found out the fate of Glenn from the graphic novel's I was really upset.

Is anyone still watching this awesome show? the last couple of episodes have been awesome, and Rick breaking down after Lori's death was crazy. Was the man's voice on the phone, supposed to be Shane's? Rick talking on the disconnected phone happens after Lori's death in the comic book, only it is at a house that Rick and Carl found when leaving after the prison raid by The Governor and his men.

Oh man I've missed the last episode or two, the last one I saw was the c-section episode. I'll have to catch up tomorrow on demand.

I am in love with Michonne! Her pets were the coolest, most badass thing ever! I missed out on a lot of season 2 so I didn't even discover who Michonne was until I was at the Walking Dead panel at Comic Con.

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
Did anyone else get sort of a Lost vibe during the last episode, when Rick was on the phone with "you know who"? Plus, The Governor isn't quite there, but he is sort of a Ben Linus type character, no? :dunno:

I really like where this show is going. Last season was good, but I think the writers have really done a great job developing the characters this season.

I wish I could read this thread but I'm afraid of the slightest spoilers posted by those who've read the comics.

I f'n love this show. The phone call scenes in the last episode were brilliant and extremely sad at the same time. I miss the Lori Grimes character already - if anything, she was nice to look at. I'm calling a Darryl vs. Merle showdown in the not so distant future.

Mishcon and her Katana for the f'n WIN.

Pretty popular? Yea, it is pretty popular. It set a new ratings record for a basic tv drama with a 10.9 share.

Just found out that Tyreese is closer to being cast, if not cast already. Chad Coleman (who did the voice of Coach from Left 4 Dead 2) and was in the Wire, is supposed to be playing him. I'm stoked, Tyreese is my third fav character after Rick and Glenn.

Anyone who watched the most recent episode, do you think the male voice was Shane on the phone other than the female voice? (In case people haven't watched it yet) That is almost taken word for word from the comic book. Next time I have time to watch it, I'm gonna have the comic book out and look at the dialogue. I know from memory it is 95% similar.
