The Sopranos

I personally HATED the ending.
I feel cheated, or tricked.

But, maybe that is just me. I like things a little more clearly stated.

Did anyone understand the significance of the cat in the episode, or Meadow's parking problems? There had to be some reason why Meadow wasn't there

word here in nj is that the movie script has been being written for 6 months now......:dunno:

When he's sitting at the table looking up at who keeps walking through the door and then the camera cuts to who keeps walking in, the camera is looking from Tony's point of view. Then you cut to the guy sitting at the counter looking over his shoulder at Tony. The guy then gets up and walks in the bathroom. Tony continues to look up at who keeps coming in, and the camera continues to cut to his point of view. Finally, Meadow comes in and the screen goes black, hence, this is from Tony's point of view and it's the last thing he sees (the guy who went in the bathroom shot him in the back of the head).
I didnt see it, but excellent description Base. I just read the plot summary on another site also.Did Meadows face give any indication there was something wrong?
You know, I think your probably correct.

well, i think life just goes on for the sopranos. new problems, new subplots etc...we just can't watch. as quick as they introduce us to tony, they took him away.

Hey guys...Here is the answer to your questions..about last nights episode..this is what it all means...i too was pissed when it ended but when you REALLY REALLY think about it, this is what it all means...here goes......

With so many loyal Soprano viewers out there from over the years, not sure why you have been unable to pick up the clues: Tony was whacked. Network television would have shown it in gory detail; Chase assumes his audience is more astute, aware of details and intelligent enough to draw the right conclusion based on the web of information that has been developed over the years.

Tony and Bobby discussed in the first episode of this season how when you die, a) you do not see it coming and b) everything turns black.

The man at the bar was Nikki Leotardo, Phil's nephew, who was noticeably nervous as he sat at the bar, rattled his fingers and stared at Tony. We saw Nikki in a sit down earlier in the season, although Tony would not have recognized him. He is there to avenge the death of his uncle (his ******, Phil's *******, died back in the late 1970s). Look at the credits.

The trucker was the ******* of the man Chris shook-down for the DVD truck back in an earlier season, who wants revenge against the ****** and Tony.

The gang members were the same guys who tried to **** Tony in an earlier season but only clipped his ear.

Chase demonstrates to the viewer that the world around Tony will end and he is surrounded by those who want to **** him and everything he stands for.

His time is up, the best times are behind him, as AJ points out. Some may argue a gang hit would never happen in front of ****** -- however, Tony's crew whacked Phil in front of his wife and grandchildren, so tit for tat. And the movie never ends, it goes on and on and on and on. The world will go on, Tony's ****** will go on and although Tony tried to hold on to that feeling of invincibility, he is human and dies by the same ***** he held.

Chase is a genius.
