The Real Blues.

Not your newer R&B music you hear this days.

Anyone have favourite artist or tunes they listen to?

I listen to quite a few thanks to the Blues Anthology I bought a few years ago.

Many classics reside including:

I Put A Spell On You - Screamin' Jay Hawkins

I'm Your Hoochie Coochie Man - Muddy Waters

C.C. Rider - Chuck Willis

Every Day I Have The Blues - B.B. King

Smoke Stack Lightning - Howlin' Wolf

When I've Been Drinkin' - Smokey Hogg

See You Later Alligator - Bobby Charles

Boom Boom (Out Goes The Lights) - Little Walter

The first two are probably my favourites.

That is a great list of proper blues songs.

I like a bit of Robert Johnson myself

A couple from one of my favorites: R.L. Burnside.

Some nasty/funny blues!

And a damn good remix of a classic...

Even though I grew up listening to live Lightnin' Hopkins and other Blues masters, I am a diehard follower of Ali "Farkha" Toure...the Blues is an African style of music that is more than just entertainment, and the American Black bluesmen continued a traditional music style that came over on the 'ships. Listen to "Talking Timbuktu", and read a bit about Babba Toure; the Blues'll take you home...
I grew up in Texas, and lived 18 years in New Orleans; the Blues is where I live...

I'm not a blues connoisseur, but I like stuff by the likes of Howlin' Wolf, T-Bone Walker, Lightning Hopkins, Blind Lemmon Jefferson, and Big Mamma Thornton.

For old classic blues, anything from Muddy or B.B. is standard material for me. :hatsoff:

Also Robin Trower ~ Premium Link Upgrade

Jimmy Dewar was such an under rated vocalist, it's a shame that the masses didn't realize how superb he was when he was alive. Jimmy was as soulful as you could get imo.

Premium Link Upgrade featuring RT, Reg Isidore and Dewar.
It's too bad that this particular trio didn't last longer, they were extremely tight and were great compliments to one another.

and you all know about RT's ''Bridge of Sighs''. :glugglug:

RIP Reg
RIP Jimmy :hatsoff:
