Haha. Nice poll. :hatsoff:

Of course I'm for it. Change is better than the status quo when the status quo is nothing but a stinking, rotting carcass of a good thing. :hatsoff:

Ace Bandage

The one and only.
Might I add a "hell fucking" to the front of my "no" response. If you're poor and unable to support yourself, then I suppose this bill appeals to you. Enjoy mooching off my tax dollars. :hatsoff:

Get a job, Mr. Lebowski!

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
In terms of income and assets, I'd say I'm pretty far from "poor" (we don't need to discuss character or morality). But this bill appeals to me because it addresses a major concern that I have about early retirement: I'll be able to find affordable health insurance that won't disqualify me because of pre-existing conditions.

So I can really start looking forward to my consulting gig, without worrying about being on an employer's group plan or being raped every month by Blue Cross/Blue Shield. :nanner:

Wow Fox News is really implanting some dumb stuff into people on this subject and it shows on some people in this forum. I remember the day after it passed in the house, fox news was in a frenzy saying stuff like "Freedom died today" haha it's sad that people actually believe crap.

I support the health care bill, its about damn time we put the "care" back in health care, your pharmaceutical companies, insurance companies, and doctors dont give a damn about the people and hopefully this bill will reform that broken system and everyone deserves health care it sucks that a person can spend their entire life savings after being hospitalized its wrong on so many fuckin levels how these companies are screwing over the american people.

I totally agree with you, but there are alot of Freeones members that would disagree to the death :fight:

So by this are we to assume that the only group of people we can depend on to "care" about us is the government?

That's right........I just facepalmed the results of my own thread.
I realize this forum is liberal, but even you guys should understand how Obamacare is unconstitutional. If the government isn't going to abide by the Constitution, perhaps we should just throw it away. :dunno:

Your poll just asked if people were for "Obamacare" or not. As for its constitutionality, that will be decided by the Supreme Court, if (or when, I should say) there are challenges that go that far.

I don't think there's anyone from the SCOTUS that posts on FreeOnes. Although I understand that Clarence Thomas lurks every now & again, looking for old screenshots of Seka with Long Dong Silver. :1orglaugh

No. Resounding no. And I have to say, I am surprised that on an uber liberal board such as this one, there are as many no votes as there are.

The dude has been abiding for far too long as it is, and now he will continue to do so......fucking great.

I'm with the "Yes" faction because, as stated, any change is worth a try. Nothing is set in stone. If Obamacare doesn't work, we move on. But fuck the status quo. I've needed my foot operated on for 7 or 8 years now. I got fired from one job (that I worked for 4 1/2 years with GREAT evaluations) because I was using the health insurance that I was having deducted from every paycheck, and I haven't been able to get a handle on it since. So, I'm not some sewer rat trying to bilk you out of your income. I'm a working stiff who has to turn down jobs that require extensive standing (really good for a guy in the casino biz). Right now, I'll give anything a try.

One more thing and I say this gently and constructively. I don't detect any "uber-liberal" or "overwhelming liberal" bias on this particular board. I read through a lot of threads that I don't reply to and I think all sides are fairly well represented. And that's something all sides are going to have to live with.

Uber Liberal?
Just off the top of my head the following are all conservatives

You
Georges
Johnnystyro
Gunslingingbird
Facetious
Will E Worm
Jane B
Sparky Shortz
Bree Olsen
Bloodshot Scott
Philbert
Blue Countach
Meesterperfect
Sporty Carr
Crazy4thebrat
Andronicus Ry
Hedonis
jasonK282
ninetysixcavy
MILF Man
Red Spyder
Legzman (mostly)

Beyond those [and I'm sure I forgot a few] it seems like Whimsy, Cunning Stunts, JacknCoke and possibly Jod lean more towards being conservative than liberal. That's a lot of conservative voices among the frequent chat section posters.

That's a pretty good list.....I feel better. :D

Seriously though.....we are GREATLY outnumbered. This an uber liberal forum.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. ;)

Where's the option for "I wanna hump your leg"? :dunno:

I am one of those who voted undecided, but I am leaning towards the no end of the spectrum. Was the current healthcare system screwed up? Yeah. Did we need the federal government to swoop in and save us? I don't think so. It all seemed like a ploy by the democrats to cement their's and Obama's legacy by forcing this through. They had been toying with this idea for years, and time after time, the idea was rejected. They had to force it through now or face the possibility of it never passing at all.

Since when is a majority vote in both houses of Congress, after more than a year of hearings and debate, considered "forcing this through"? At least you didn't claim that it was rammed down the throat of the American people.

When not a single Republican voted for it and at least half the American population is against it.

In my experience, saying, "Things can't get any worse," is just asking Murphy to bite you in the ass.
