Is anyone from the mob going to the Miami party?

Unfortunately I can't. :( Really sucks but I've just got too much going on at the mo and other commitments as well.

I really wanted to be there to cheer for Miss when she wins her 2 titles!! :)

No I cant either unfortunately & it would be soooo great to meet some of these sexy ladies & show my support but Im going to Europe later this year... which will also be fucking awesome! xXx :D

Your Eurotrip really should include a visit to a certain English Country mansion.

I'd love to visit Europe but I just wouldn't make it through the flight! :(

I absolutely hate flying ~ thankfully copious amounts of beer & wine tends to calm my nerves! Staying in Bangkok for 2 nights before the last leg to Europe... 20+hours on a plane is MADNESS I say *hehe* xXx ;)

I can understand you, there was a time I actually enjoyed flying (a time I took planes several times during the year), but then - I don't know :dunno: something changed, perhaps the fascination was gone, or maybe it was the entire service in a downward spiral. Nowadays I actually hate it when I even have to consider flying...

I miss the good old times - even those I've never known personally.

- Once you had Stewardesses and then Hostesses, almost ethereal, beautiful young women, who would travel around the world. Attentive, friendly, curtious, etc. - nowadays, you get Flight Attendants, who somehow always think that their sh*t doesn't smell, and that they're better than everyone else, arrogant, and not at all attentive. Somehow, then, especially on Inter-Continental flights, it seems that there's only grumpy old Hags and happy-go-lucky gay dudes as Cabin Crew.
- All the security checks - that don't really serve anything than consume time and nerves, and often makes normal people feel like criminals, just because of the amount of electronics one carries in their carry-on (logically, since as checked baggage it would get thrown around like hell). 'Cause lets face it, those who really want to do something, somehow always find a way.
- Not to mention the catering - good drinks, and delicous food - today you're lucky to get water and a ice cold sandwich without having to pay extra.

Unfortunately it looks like the good old times of Air Travel won't return. What company could enforce today a weight and dress (underwear) standard on their personel without facing a law-suit for discrimination? Only Disney still gets it's "Disney Look" through, and they don't do Airlines. We won't get real Silverwear and Crystal Glasses anymore, and the quality of the food, well if Airlines got the US-Military's MREs (Meal-Ready-to-Eat) that would already be a step-up.

Unless of course, you choose to not shun expenses, and the Route you're planning on flying on, is served by one of the Skytrax Award-Winning Airlines, and go First Class. Then you can hope to get a Private Suite, with a Flat-Bed, Large Screen Monitor with 600+ Channels, a 5-Course Gourmet Meal (though still with non-lethal cutlery), Showers, some Service, and expect to be greeted by name when boarding. On the A380 there's even a Bar-Lounge.

Then again, there are age-old alternatives to flying.
Once there were hundreds of Ships crossing the 7-Seas, to take people from one place to the other. Now there are far less Ships, but still, there are some.

There are also quite some advantages of taking a Ship:
- when an Airplane goes down, chances for survival are close to 0; when a Ship goes down, chances for survival aren't that bad.
- on an Airplane you're limited on the amount and weight of Baggage, on a Ship you're mostly limited by what you can carry and fit into your cabin (weight limits may apply but only on the single item) not on the quantity.
- the Service is still very attentive, you can actually move about a lot, go out into the air, do various activities, and don't feel cramped.
- the Food is good, and you get decent cutlery.

Only disadvantages of a Ship:
- if the sea is rough, it lasts longer than your typical turbulences in flight.
- the voyage takes longer.

Whenever I can, personally I prefer the Ship, and not only because I grew up on the Coast and used to live on Ships for a few years.
Luckily it's already 8 years since Cunard Line re-introduced Semi-Regular Service between Europe and North America. Other routes aren't quite as well served, though if one searches, one can find. Some Merchant-Vessels do still take paying passengers on board - service isn't comparable to that on Ocean Liners, but still - way better than flying.

I'm sure something could be done.
I mean, the A-Team always managed to get BA where he was needed.

Haha! Well I do have to drug myself to even step foot on a plane!

20 hours......on a plane.....I can already feel an anxiety attack coming on! I'd probably overdose to even attempt to get through that!

One the world's greatest ever Science Fiction writers, Isaac Asimov never flew. He did come over to Europe, but by ship.

I get anxiety on ships as well. Hell I get anxiety sitting on my couch in front of the TV! :(

Best way to beat anxiety on a ship: travel with (at least) one other person; close yourselves in the cabin (best outside view or balcony, as natural light comes in) and spend the entire trip f*cking. For those other bodily needs, there's a bathroom, and room service! :D
