You know jitna, maybe you need to get a new microwave. Most of them beep to remind you that what's in there is done.

Just sayin' but... after a few days with unrefrigerated cheese, you might not want to do that. :nono:

I can't speak for jitna but I find with my limited cooking abilities whenever I make something regardless of how well it turns out I eat it. I don't like throwing food away. Of course with that being mentioned I have eaten some concoctions that I should have thrown out

Since this has nothing to do with the topic of this fine thread, let me get back on track.

What on earth are you doing making grilled cheese in the microwave? Cook that stuff on the stove! Get two pieces of bread, spread butter on one side of each piece, put the cheese in the middle, put it in the frying pan, cook one side for a minute or two, flip it over to cook the other side, and voila, fantastic grilled cheese! Mmm now I want some... Grilled cheese with tomato soup. Yum.

Super hot Harley!!! :D

Thanks :)

This is true. Most foods that are supposed to be refrigerated or frozen start growing pathogens after 4 hours of being in room temperature, and some of those pathogens don't die after you cook them.

I know these things. ServSafe certified! Oh yeah.

That sounds good... :drool1: ... that's probably the wrong drooly-tongue emoticon, but it's the one I picked out of the list on short notice! :D

Quick... someone find that "The More You Know" .jpg with the shooting star from G.I. Joe...

Re: The Official Harley Spencer Thread!

Grilled cheese sandwiches are good. I haven't had one in a really long time. They're best paired with some tomato soup. I can't eat (err, drink) tomato soup plain, I have to have it with crackers or grilled cheese. I went through this phase once of grilled cheese, making them shits nearly every day for like a month. So good! I have to have them white american cheese, no yellow cheese. I'm weird like that.

Re: The Official Harley Spencer Thread!

Grilled cheese sandwiches can be good, but you need good bread and cheese to make them. Unfortunately, most of the time I've had them in my life the person making them used some of the crappiest mass produced white bread that was available with American cheese slices, one of the crappiest cheese in the world.

That's something you feed to children because the don't know any better. ;)

I dunno, I don't quite agree with this. I grew up in one of the poorest families around. We usually had store brand bread, country crock butter, and sliced deli american cheese. That's all we used. Honestly, I think just because something is considered of higher quality, is more expensive, whatever, doesn't mean it's so much better than others. I like my cheap, "crappy" bread and cheese, thanks.

Nice! Who woulda thunk?

Re: The Official Harley Spencer Thread!

I grew up poor also, still am, and normally I don't have a problem with a lot cheep food. It's just that two of the exceptions to that are cheep white bread, and American cheese slices (especially the American cheese slices), and those two just happen to be the things combined in most grilled cheese sandwiches.
