DMC 5! Give it to me.
I heard that the Kinect demo was a total bomb for Microsoft.Don't really know why they would show a terribly rushed peripheral when they knew that it wasn't ready. This has potential to be a problem for Microsoft if they don't get their shit together.
I'd like to see one that is actually scary. That'd be great.
Blast my enthusiasm leading me blindly in starting new threads...
I'm rolling with your thread Shayd cause Whimsy was picking on me last week....anyways, I'm reading that the M$ xbox conference was SuperLame-O. Shit for game announcements outside of the Kinect games, mostly demos of multiplatform games, Call of duty maps coming to xbox first then ps3 for the next 3 years(so the fuck what?!)......
The new xbox console looks cool but no price cut and its not like its new hardware. So if you got an xbox already its totally irrelevant to you just like the slim ps3. At least when they did the slim ps3 they cut the price along with it...
Sounds lame-O to me, wheres the fucking games???? All this totally reinforces my decision to drop xbox and invest my $$$ in ps3 until the next round of consoles.
I think it might be longer than that. I think they are just gonna keep adding new features. (IE Xbox & PS3 doing the whole motion stuff like Wii already has)
:dunno:
I just watched a special coverage by Gametrailers on the Microsoft conference on Spike TV without commercial interruptions...and it was great. The Kinect looks impressive as well as the new Xbox 360 slim. However, they did not mention if the dreaded red-ring of death has been fixed with the new slim console. Probably will holdout and watch out for its reviews.

The tech demo was rather successful, the lineup of games was fairly disappointing. The technology was more than functional.
I don't know where you heard that because I watched it and didn't see any problems to say it was rushed. The only problems I saw were the lack luster games and applications for Kinect.

If you look at the guy holding his arms up in t he first link,it looks a little laggy to me.
My main point though,is that it is rushed because all they did was copy what was already done years ago with the Wii,as far as games go.

I'm just teasing, bud.
Microsoft certainly to this point has focused on hardware, I'm intrigued to see if they even bother with announcing any games or if they'll just let the publishers do it. I agree with you too in terms of the slim Xbox too, I'm rather perplexed that Microsoft didn't at least come down in price on the slim. I thought that if they debuted a slim 360, they'd probably do away with the XBLA system, but instead it seems they're trying to bifurcate the lineup into a "lite" and "hardcore" division. I'd be surprised however if the slim 360 didn't feature some new hardware inside though.
Both Sony and Microsoft have investments into the current generation of consoles until at least 2012. I could realistically see a new system coming out around 2013.
Microsoft will probably never discuss the failure rate at such a high profile event. But, I will say the new 360 slim looks to have much smarter heat vents, so we'll see.

Agree on all your statements here Shayd, 100%. And failure rates would never be talked about at any event by any of the companies. What would happen if they said the RROD's in the slims won't be a problem, but then when the system hits there's insane hardware failures?
As far as lack of games by xbox, it seems that they're abandoning the core gamers and pushing Kinect in everyones face too much. With playstation move,Sony is giving gamers the options they want and should have....

The RROD is one of the things that came to mind when I watched them reveal the new 360. However I believe Microsoft has learned their lesson. As always when a new system shows its face I always wait anyways to make sure I'm not investing in something that I will later kick myself in the ass for getting on a kick ass impulse buy. I am excited for the built in Wi-Fi though.
As for the Kinetic I was watching it on SpikeTV yesterday and was so bored. I cringed when I watched the Star Wars demo for it and felt it was just childish looking now. They should have waited on revealing it on a later date when they have something that gamers can get into.
I kept waiting to see games and all I kept seeing was this Kinetic peripheral. Basically Microsoft's attempt at Wii peripherals and all that. See how it goes.
