Assari you have women like Bonnie Raitt, The Heart Sisters, Janis Joplin, and Joan Jett that can certainly play or have played decent rock and roll.

Referring to the popular name thrown around - Elvis played different kinds of music, from rockabilly, country, gospel, blues, etc., but the bottom line was that he was a pop artist, not rock 'n' roll. Elvis is the king of pop, which makes Michael Jackson the 'prince of pop'.
Rock 'n' roll is very much guitar-based. Chuck Berry set the template for so much of what is still done today in rock (hell, Angus Young of AC/DC still emulates his movements onstage and playing style, and so do countless others). If you want to choose a 'king', then he would be it.
